The idea that Republicans are using the EC to somehow have the minority rule the majority is totally bogus. All they are doing at the moment is preventing tyranny from Democrats.
you misquoted me... you edited my post then quoted me as though it were me... it's improper to do that... you're forgiven, however, please don't do that again... thanks btw, i don't live in the 'big city', i don't even go there for a visit... i'm not in rural area either, although there are many farms all around me...
That's the thing with giving people power. They just want more, which is why we have a constitution, and why the 10th amendment was ratified. I'll be the first to say that the federal government has become far too powerful. We really need to start thinking of constitutional amendments which give more power to states at the expense of the federal government. This idea that I should be told what to do by the federal government has run its course, and we need to do something to stop that. This is why I like Trump. At the very least, he's making it very clear to even democrats that the President shouldn't be allowed to do certain things. Maybe if the democrats really want to limit Trump's powers, they could go about it via constitutional amendments. They don't because they know they're just a few years or maybe even a decade away from getting back into power again. They only hate on it when they aren't the ones with pens and phones.
I will reserve the right to edit your posts to make a joke (as I did in this case), but I will never do it to misrepresent you or to make a serious point. I don't fight strawmen, women or children.
interesting, truly interesting... that said, you could & should have quoted me, then in your reply say something like: 'the only feces & urine we have are from the livestock'... rather than edit my quote, it was a democrat thing to do
She won California by four million she list the other 49 by 1 million. Further if you include all those - libertarians, Republicans, and green party et al- more people did indeed vote against Hillary than for her.
That is not a rational question. This was a serious issue in 2016. Unemployment is always a serious issue. And, watching a whole sector leave workers behind is not something anyone is interested it. The thing is, something has to be done LONG before they are actuall dumped. It's not like a middle aged autowrker can go back and get college degree in civil engineering to be qualified to do automation design and installation, or bcome a computer programmer worth a similar salary, etc.
That why states laws can create the atmosphere they wish in their state.. Presidents don't interfere much with state laws.. See you can be happy without a President of your party the left simply think a president is all powerful, and they are not.. If your state is not making you happy then blame your state legislators!
See the house in the background.. Looks like it is even wired for eeelectricty and satellite television Here is a California leftist neighborhood
guess again, she recieved ~65 million votes while 71 million voted for someone other than her... so how does that translate to her winning the popular vote?
The candidate that gets the most votes. Don't go on an EC rant, please. I just responded to a post that had the wrong figures.
… and there are people in other towns with the lust to dominate your town … and there are people on other streets with the lust to dominate your street … etc. What powers do you believe that the federal government should have? What powers should the states have? What powers should localities have? Personally, I think that we're all Americans and should strive for the common good. Poorer states would be in pretty dire straits if the federal government didn't redistribute some of the wealth from richer states.
Perhaps. Jokes aren't my strong suit. They say it's all in the timing. That's where the editing came in. I suppose now that if I have to edit for a joke that's about as lame as a joke I need to explain. I hate those.
I assume you know that the constitution has no provision for any sort of popular vote, right? So when you say "the candidate that gets the most votes", I'm not sure to which election you are referring.
About 3 million more citizens voted for Hillary than voted for Trump. I'm not surprised that the margin was larger in CA. The claim was about the US as a whole, though.
