    According to Greta, the world is going to end in 12 years, so she's not seeing that far ahead.

    Interesting that you feel she has a grasp on what is actually happening in the world, at her advanced age. The fact that you put so much credit in a child, should make you question your position.

    Who is she? I thought the “person of the year” was supposed to be significant.

    She is on tour speaking all over the country. Of course, she only travels by horse and buggy because taking a jet would make her a hypocrite.

    As far as nicotine, it was Dr. C. Everette Koop that started the campaign against smoking. He was our Surgeon General under Reagan.

    LOL. That's anyone's choice for person of the year? Some spoiled rich girl who thinks the rest of the world owes her the future she wants while she sails around the world on a boat made of materials that changed the climate as they were produced and turned into a boat?

    She is not a spoiled little rich girl, she is a young lady on the autism spectrum that has been destroyed by loonie overbearing parents. I feel so very sorry for her and the 11.4 years she has left to screech about globull warming.

    That is a much better point than climate change. No scientist on either side could argue that these chemicals are safe to breath or ingest. While you are taking cheap shots at reps, would you like to discuss air/water/soil pollution where dems enjoy a super majority?

    She certainly winds up the misogynists, the climate deniers - the few that are left that is and the far right. For a young woman to do this to the extent she does suggests she has a powerful voice.

    Current necessity to reduce Co2 by 45% by 2030 to nil by 2050. That may well change as things become more obvious and is why people who acknowledge the issue are trying to do it much quicker. Since the West discovered it was destroying the world in no uncertain terms in the late 80's it has decided to do it more and more and worse and worse. Something is wrong given that it ought to be innate to want to preserve your species - not just rip all the bushes bare so that no one can ever get anything again which is the current position of the climate deniers.
