    I don't have enough context from these facts to judge him one way or the other. Was he under fire and did he have reason to believe the fire was coming from the guys on the motorcycle? If so then a murder charge seems pretty harsh. Maybe manslaughter but he'd have to be pretty negligent to warrant that.

    I will read up on the facts and get smarter about what happened here.

    I had a high draft number so did not have to go into the military. I volunteered. I don't fault anyone for not wanting to be in and think the draft is awful and must be why democrats have pushed it so hard.

    Sounds from the story that there was a lot of underlying subtext that wasn't reported in the story that underpinned the platoon's opinion of their young LT. Of course, where was his senior NCO? Young eager lieutenants are the creatures of their senior NCOs. If he was out of control, one wonders what the junior enlisted folks thought of their ncos....
