There's a good reason drinking and then driving a car is legal and the other is a felony for even a small amount.

Driving drunk is bad. Driving above a .008 BAC for many people? Just a couple of beers at Red Lobster and some horrifically bad luck with crooked/******* cops mixed in. These days they will try to stick a DUI on anything over .005, -one- beer if the person is pulled over and tested quickly... often unlawfully. DUI Trap/Farms all over my part of the country. Cops get kickbacks from Cousin Leroys $500 a mile towing company. Biggest witch hunt/revenue grab of our time, all for Complex greed, growth and graft. DUIs are a multibillion dollar state industry, the fines themselves are only the teeny tip of the iceberg.

Gaetz could have gotten a legit one, sure, I don't know. Half of them these days are not legit though, are inflicted on minority and low income men to keep them down and dependent, "keep em in the system."
