You are the only person that I have seen that is trying to make this comparison.
Of course this isn’t a trial like you or I would be in.
Mitch and Graham would already be removed if it was.

The Republicans in the Senate will be as partisan as the Democrats were in the house, neither your whining about it, nor theirs, will change anything.
Elections have consequences; the Democrats can ride along, but they have to sit in the back.

Yeh, they do have consequences — thats why trump is about to forever be trump*

You should post the rest of the “sit in the back” quote. Here, I’ll do it for you
“Finally we got this car up on level ground. And, yes, it's a little beat up. It needs to go to the body shop. It's got some dents; it needs a tune-up. But it's pointing in the right direction. And now we've got the Republicans tapping us on the shoulder, saying, we want the keys back.

You can't have the keys back. You don't know how to drive. You can ride with us if you want, but you got to sit in the backseat. We're going to put middle-class America in the front seat. We're looking out for them.” -
Two term elected by the vote of the people, never impeached — President Obama

And he''ll remain your President until at least January 2021, with you unable to do a thing about it.

Yes, he will most likely be president* until that time.
No one is disputing this but I understand why you must run to this argument every time you lose your argument.

So now McConnell is justifying his being the jury foreman and part of the defense team claiming that the democrats did it during Clinton's trial. First two wrongs don't make a right. Second I recall no such event and can't locate one either. Finally, Mitch, the Senate that tried Clinton had 51 republicans on it. Is he claiming that the republicans coordinated with Clinton?

Under the current Democratic party's rules for "abuse of power" and "obstruction of congress"...yes, they did. It's debatable otherwise.

Easy to prove them wrong. The fact that the House did not impeach him for any of that. They knew that they had no case.

This silliness is almost as pathetic as you folks trying to get electors to switch their votes to Hillary. It only goes to prove your party offers nothing if you feel the need to use parlor tricks to get your way. So sad...

You;re upset that the GOP-run Senate is being as partisan and the Dem-run house?
    Why?

    WTF?

Are you seriously pretending that the House will not impeach your BLOTUS for the criminal charges cited in the Articles of Impeachment just passed by the HJC?

Oh I'm sure that they'll impeach him for "obstruction of Congress" and "abuse of Power". Never said otherwise. But that isn't what we were talking about was it? Nothing that they have put forth in those two things mentions the Mueller report, Cohen, or the HIR. Those two impeachment charges are all about Ukraine. That's it. They couldn't get him for anything else...or they would have included it. You know it, I know it. Pretending otherwise does not help your cause one iota.

From the above it is obvious that you did NOT read my original post or you are just fixated on arguing irrelevant nonsense.

Either way the content of your own posts disqualifies you from any further meaningful interaction on this topic as far as I am concerned.

    Have a nice day!

I have read every post that I have responded to. If you can't keep up with the conversation then perhaps its a good idea that you bow out. Or perhaps you're just bowing out being you have no valid arguments and know it? Meh...either way its clear that you are not able to debate this topic. TTFN!

So Trump shouldn't talk to Russia because 'they got him elected,' and now he shouldnt talk to the Senate because of impeachment...

Next they'll be saying he can't have Twitter because he might use it to influence the election...

Not in the least. They did their jobs, was there bias? Are they human? Undoubtedly but at no point did they actually not do their jobs let alone announce their intentions not to.
Prior to the trial senators take this oath
Several Republican sentators have publicly said that they are not going to respect that oath. In the case of Mcconnell he has gone so far as to declare he is working with the defense. This is a horrible precedent and it will be interesting to see how justice Roberts handles it. It's one thing to be biased but to openly declare that you will violate your oath prior to the trial is extraordinary.

John Dean has a proposal that just might work. Impeach Trump but don't send the impeachment to the Senate for trial. Just hold it over Donald's head if he should go off the deep end again. One of my fears as I stated earlier is that if the Senate doesn't remove him from power he'll take it as carte blanche. How many more circumventions of Congress because of national emergencies and security will he invoke? Treaties nullified and more?
No, since the jury foreman has made the outcome clear it's best to leave the indictment open pending further information. Keep in mind that in the Spring the Supreme court will be ruling on the ignored subpeonas and assuming this court doesn't ignore presidencies made during Nixon's Watergate and Clinton's sexual exploits then Trump will be turning over a lot of documents and his minions who claimed executive privilege will have to testify under oath. All that was established during Nixon, Reagan and Clinton, I don't see this court overturing all of that.

If the BLOTUS is removed by the Senate then Pence will be the one having to explain why he never spoke out against the odious policies of the BLOTUS.

If the BLOTUS is NOT removed then the 20 GOP Senators are going to held accountable by the electorate in 2020. This places the Senate GOP majority in jeopardy.

Either way the BLOTUS is going to be a factor in the 2020 election so they are going to need some outside help in order to retain both the Senate and the Executive branch.

Yes, it would be nice if the HoR actually did their job AND stick to precedent rather than bum rush this whole thing on the flimsiest of excuses. Of course if they did wait until SCOTUS rules on those subpoena's then they'd have to remove the "obstruction of Congress" charge since Trump has always followed what the courts have ruled on once he's taken full advantage of the court system.

There are 23 Republican Senate seats up for vote. I think they would still be in big doodoo for speaking out now and having all that evidence released in the spring show how wrong they were without the risk of unleashing Trump entirely.
