And until such time that the above becomes a physical reality, rather than a mere ideal, the choices available will remain prison and suicide. They can either be incarcerated to what facilities presently exist, or they can be left to their own devices and end their own existence because they regard such a decision as being reasonable under their circumstances.
Sadly Extremely Cruel ideas are popular in USA. Sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of lives seems acceptable. In Canada, Scandinavia, and much of West Europe, the life of the worst criminal is sacred. The worst criminal has a right to humane incarceration. If these rights are violated, he/she can file suits and win some of them.
I believe in Survival of Everyone. I reject Survival of the Fittest 100%. PS. Had I been one of the fittest, maybe I would have subscribed to Social Darwinism.
Then remove the violent, problematic individuals from the equation entirely. Either through execution, or indefinite confinement to the appropriate facilities for the duration of their natural lives.
The world is cruel. Stop denying reality and accept it for what it ultimately is. First and foremost. Is the united states located in the nation of Canada, the nation of Scandinavia, or any of the nations that make up West Europe? If not then the comparison is invalid. Cease making it. Second, what of the lives of the victims lost to the actions of the criminal? Do they simply not matter? Did their victims have a right to not have their lives taken away by the criminal?
Which means nothing when it is in the habit of continually releasing known violent criminals, time and time again, despite them proving time and time again that they either cannot, or simply will not, abide by the rules of society. Pray tell. Once one has already proven that they will not abide by the rules of society, why should they ever be allowed back into society ever again?
Rampant - interesting choice of words. Rampant gun violence would not make me feel secure either. Glad I live in the US where rampant gun violence is not a problem. All my guns are still serving the purpose for which they were intended.
The worst criminal has give up their rights and upon conviction should be executed to free the world from their vileness.
While it is your right to believe whatever you wish that does not make it fact. Fact is the world is still a cruel master; it is only the bleeding-heart liberals trying to say it is not.
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson believed that even worst offenders should not suffer extreme punishment. Britain executed most American POWs by starvation. In that instance George Washington and Thomas Jefferson took Humanitarian and right side. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson did have enormous character flaws.
My fault is that I can not produce. I refuse to see myself unworthy. Tens of millions of disabled people in USA are like me.
Hey my friend, I didn't mean to indicate you were unworthy. Like I said the world is a cruel master. Every human, like every other living thing was never given a guarantee to survive to old age. Some, such as yourself, are fortunate enough to have help. Obviously you are able to think for yourself and are able to communicate with others over the internet. Many people do similar work as a profession.
Very true that in reality many people are dying from guns. There are ways to stop the killing without confiscating firearms. The part you say sounds like science fiction will only be known when it is too late. If we give up our arms and then find we are indeed in forced servitude how do we get out of our slavery without arms?
