    It's NOT THAT SIMPLE.
America fought guerilla warfare against the Viet Cong, and defeated them
in 1967. But then America had to fight the North Vietnamese Army which
had the backing of Mao's China, the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact
    nations. No light arms here.
To be successful insurgencies need a border to cross, and allies. I can't
see local Americans looking to Mexico or Canada to help fight tanks and
    F35's.

To be genuine about fighting one's government the citizens must also
possess heavy and high tech armaments, including nuclear weapons.

The problem is you need enough of the population willing to fight and/or support a rebellion and leadership that is organized and capable of the operational side and any leaders that much of a threat the government would arrest and try in court well before they could organize. In addition I don't see the will for an armed rebellion with say 30 million people involved in happening anytime soon the size that could maintain a insurgent/terror force going long term.

Actually the link is very clear that Saddam did not possess WMDs at the time of the invasion. He maintained the intellectual capacity to renew the program sometime in the future but did not possess the actual weapons at the time of the invasion or for several years prior to the invasion.

Saddam Hussein didn't hold some theocratic dictatorship.

That's what chemical waist does. Waist is no weapon.

No, he held off the Iranian theocratic dictatorship. This wasn't the run off from a chemical factory, these were Saddams caches of nerve gas from the 90s which had decayed in the desert for a decade after the liberation.

I prefer Webster's definition: To exercise control over.

The people have no control whatsoever over the government. Electing people every few years is NOT exercising control over.

Thats 1980's. And after decades of being neglected in the desert, it turned into chemical waste.
And there was no liberation. The US claimed Iraq had WMD, hence they attacked it.
But no such WEAPONS were found. Fake news from the right wing US government.
All we got are a bunch of Americans who are unable to come to terms with it,
because the chaos the US caused, caused 100.000's to die. Blood is on their hands.
And it is so, because as occupying power, the US was responsible for the safety.
    Such is the law.

True but it's better than every other system ever tried, people who say they don't believe in Western democracy are invariably those who wish to denigrate it in comparison with more totalitarian systems of government.

That is a pretty desperate analogy, that's like saying NK's missile programme are now overgrown firecrackers.

Of course there was a liberation, a dictator removed and replaced by a deeply flawed but real parliament, 100,000s of lives saved by ending Saddams repression, wars and sanctions.

In the last 20 years or so, Western Democracy has demonstrated itself to be belligerent by practicing military aggression all over the globe. Western Democracies have demonstrated themselves to be lands of deception and censorship. Western Democracies are holding Julian Assange in violation of every human rights law ever written. Western Democracies thumb their collective nose at the rule of law.

How exactly? Western democracies ARE the rule of law, you just don't want to admit that so as to denigrate them compared to the dictatorships you endorse.

I presume you are US citizen.

While you were sleeping, your elected representatives trashed the 4th Amendment, Habeas Corpus, and the entire Constitution in general by way of the USA Patriot Act and other legislation repugnant to the document.

Wake up and smell the napalm Rob. The rule of law as defined by the Supreme Law of the Land is burning.

That Iraq only had chemical waist is simply the truth, buddy.
You're free to prove your point that they had weapons stored.

Total nonsense. The US attacked because the US made up lies about the WMD's. Your attempt to rewrite history is pathetic. And FYI the US fully supported Saddam Hussein in the 1980's by providing the materials, knowhow, and military info to make and use WMD's. The US got the blood on their hands of 100.000's of civilians for aiding that terrorist.

I posted a message to introduce you on Iran's traditional winter holiday, Yalda, but here is a video about Christmas in Iran. And the effect of sanctions on those in Iran (mainly Christians, but also some other Iranians who have kids who like the holiday) celebrating Christmas.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and others here. I hope we will see greater enlightenment among people everywhere, combined with peace and prosperity for all.
