But your 1971 VW wasn't hired to work in the White House advising the President.

But this ******* was. See that nice medal he's so proud of? That's the medal of Vitezi Rend.

What is the Vitézi Rend and how did Sebastian Gorka purportedly join it?

The Hungarian group was established as a loyalist group by Admiral Miklos Horthy, who ruled Hungary as a staunch nationalist from 1920 to October 1944.

A self-confessed anti-Semite, Horthy imposed restrictive Jewish laws prior to World War II and collaborated with Hitler. His cooperation with the Nazi regime included the deportation of hundreds of thousands of Jews into Nazi hands.

That's the man you so proudly quote and I assume, admire.

~ Whether I like Gorka or not is irrelevant. His statement fits the discussion .

Ridiculous statement from a man that was a Hungarian fugitive for seven months wanted on weapons charges. The warrant, first reported by Hungarian online outlet 444 is for “firearm or ammunition abuse”. Maybe the Hungarian police just assumed too much. Gorka is the ass.

You would only know that if the US and its allies didnt carry those conflicts out.

What sort of Iraq or Afganistan would be today if they were left to fester terrorism without invasion?

You dont know and nor does anyone except to say the current middle east could be a lot worse.

~ Yes - and thankfully the people elected a President who is not afraid of political correctness and has made more attempt to pull away from the Mideast but still protect American life while there.
Let us hope we can finally escape the endless "wars" that previous administrations have created .

Some conflicts aren't winnable in the conventional sense. In such cases, it might be better to find other solutions than a military one. We could start by electing a President with the capacity to actually think & act in terms other than those based entirely on conflict.

Sigh... you are way off track ok,....2017 article... old news. We know about Al Qaeda Iran link... correction... other people knew you clearly didn't'

    Al-Qaeda Has Rebuilt Itself—With Iran's Help
Interviews with al-Qaeda members and bin Laden’s family reveal a pact that allowed the group to prepare for its next phase.

Against all odds, and despite the most costly counter-terrorism campaign ever waged by the West, al-Qaeda has flourished—its comeback assisted by a remarkable pact with Iran.

Foreign Policy U.S. Intelligence Undercuts Trump’s Case on Iran-al Qaeda Links

Despite claims by Pompeo, Tehran and al Qaeda have been at odds more often than they've been aligned since 9/11.

To bolster the Trump administration’s case against Iran, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has given classified briefings to Congress in recent weeks alleging close ties between Iran and al Qaeda. But experts familiar with the views of the U.S. intelligence community are contradicting these claims, saying that the Iran-al Qaeda relationship almost certainly does not include active collaboration in terrorist acts and is even less evident now than it was at the time of 9/11.

Indeed, given their religious enmity, Shiite Iran and Sunni-dominated al Qaeda have been mostly at odds since the terrorist group first emerged in the mountains of neighboring Afghanistan and Pakistan. Well before 9/11, Tehran had been backing the Northern Alliance Afghan guerrillas—who were also U.S. allies—fighting the Taliban hosts of al Qaeda. After 9/11, the Iranians rounded up and allegedly placed under house arrest several al Qaeda figures who were inside Iran, and those numbers have fluctuated since then.

Skeptics on Capitol Hill believe Pompeo is making the case about al Qaeda links to avoid asking Congress for a new Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) for military action against Iran. The current AUMF, in force since 9/11, is focused entirely on al Qaeda and associated forces, authorizing the president to use force “against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons.”

“Iranian support to the Taliban has become more formalized and publicly known in recent years. Iran has provided material support to the Taliban since at least 2007,” said Pentagon spokeswoman Rebecca Rebarich. “Iranian support has consisted of small arms, explosives, mortars, [rocket-propelled grenades], heavy machine guns, and 107mm rockets, in addition to training in small unit tactics and the use of weapons systems.”

Jones says this claim “has a bit more truth to it. Iran plays an interesting role in Afghanistan. It has reasonable relations with the Afghan government, including a trade relationship. But Iran provides limited assistance to the Taliban—and has for years—including at training camps on the Iranian side of the border. Iran has also provided limited lethal assistance, including small arms. For a short period, they also provided technical assistance for EFPs [explosively formed penetrators]. But that stopped perhaps a decade ago.”

He added: “Still, one has to put this into perspective. The Taliban’s largest outside supporter—by far—is Pakistan, particularly its chief spy agency, the ISI.” And the United States maintains an alliance with Pakistan.

So "Al-Qaeda has flourished", alright, but primarily because it has been mostly assisted by Pakistan which has been assisted by the US.

If the US really wants to fight Al-Qaeda competently and finally win the war on terror then the US really ought first to stop helping Al-Qaeda, by stopping helping the Pakistan ISI to help Al Qaeda and stopping Saudi Arabia and the other gulf monarchies from funding Al Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS etc.

I suppose it is quite embarrassing for the Americans, a proud nation, to admit that they have taken a 9/11 size beating from their Saudi customers dished out by Saudi secret agents Al Qaeda assisted by Pakistan.

If America wants to turn the other cheek for the Saudis to slap the Americans' other cheek too - fair enough, very Christian - but it is not fair to blame Iran for slapping the first cheek that was slapped by the Saudis when they ordered 9/11.

Because it failed and made a total mess of the Middle East. And of course the supposed reason for the war was a lie! But then politicians lying to the American people is a time honored tradition. Bush just got caught.

You're trying to overlook the fact that Iran has cleverly built alliances with ISIS' competition and America's enemy. Al Qaeda have strengthened its position in Africa and the Middle East with the help of Iran... no wall of text is going to change that

I don't which one is the greater "moron", but I detest Pence a lot more than I dislike Trump. Pence to me is one of the heads of the two-headed monster that has taken over American politics. The other head is best represented by someone like Sheldon Adelson. Together, they represent what is evil in American politics.

Yep, NEVER heard of him until now. Typical Trump blunder at the hands of his advisers who should have realized that I and nobody else had never heard of this bloke even though intelligence knew him to be the harbinger of terrorism for a very long time. We should have heard about this guy and how important he was.The assassination of Bin Ladin and Bagdadi were political triumphs' whereas this escapade left us totally in the dark as to who Qassim Soleimani was. Example of the intelligence community's inability to cultivate public opinion before it acts..

Just as you had been unaware of Soleimani, you were likely unaware as to how OBL actually died:

The US government practices deception 24/7, no matter who is in the White House. :peace:
