Mnuchin seeks delay of proposed disclosure of Secret Service spending on presidential travel until after election

The Trump administration is seeking to delay a Democratic effort to require the Secret Service to disclose how much it spends protecting President Trump and his family when they travel — until after the 2020 election, according to people familiar with the discussions.

The issue has emerged as a sticking point in recent weeks as Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and key senators have been negotiating draft legislation to move the Secret Service back to his department, its historic home.

Mnuchin has balked at Democratic demands that the bill require the Secret Service to disclose the costs related to the travel of the president and his adult children within 120 days after it is passed, according to people with knowledge of the talks. Mnuchin has agreed to Democrats’ push for a requirement that the Secret Service report its travel expenses but wants such disclosures to begin after the election.

What Trump doesn't want you to know is that his administration has spent more on Secret Service in his first year as Barack Obama spent in all 8 years of his two terms.

Of course there is. There is an accounting of every dollar spent on Secret Service, that's why Steve Mnuchin won't release these details until Sept, 20th, which is AFTER the election.

I mistyped the month, it's NOVEMBER that he plans to release these figures, after the 3rd of November.

 

The last one that I was able to find was from 2014. That is two years before Obama left.

 

I'll side with the Dems on this one, release the figure, why not.

Even on a political level I think it makes more sense to let the figure drop and defend the spending than to block the figure and defend the block.

 

It is so strikingly obvious that what ever tRUMP says or wants, the real individuals with TDS, are those who continually genuflect before their "lord" and "master."
One that has some idea of what it cost the budget for the secret service to protect tRUMP every time he puts his fat *ss on the jet, would be able to have a cost estimate.
Then what does it cost to protect his "boys" every time they leave for a business meeting?
Their businesses should reimburse the US government

 

Definitely because Trump wants to hide how much taxpayer dollars he and his family are wasting on vacations until after the election.

 

How much did Obama spend?

 

Approximately the same amount, across 8 years, in the time span that Trump has spent in 3 years.

And that's without knowing the costs associated with protecting Trump's children while they travel overseas to conduct business deals.

 

So then there is proof of that? Which you would be willing to post from the government?
