Something like that but I think that it was something that they didn't want to do but forced to do . You saw at first 3 days they were denying . They knew how it happened the moment it happened but they were lying that it was some technical issue. The international pressure made them confess.
The detail of the reason behind this, is not something that I can explain because I need the data from some future political consequences.

Might want a better phone line or something, I mean really, lame.

Knowing that terrorists can use aircraft, like some squat to leak terrorist imitating Al Quacka, sometimes taking one hit might be advisable before shooting stuff down.

Not like it hasn't happened before, when we screwed up big time.

Yes, when it was finally, inescapably CLEAR that this gaggle of incompetent morons did, indeed, shoot down a civilian airliner, THEN AND ONLY THEN did the Islamo-Nazi priests who rule Iran finally admit it! Their first reaction was to LIE, DENY, BLAME OTHERS, and then continue to do so for days afterward! How do you even begin to reason with people who lie like that?!

And, more importantly, how do you achieve any kind of verifiable "agreement" regarding thermonuclear weapons with people who stick to their own lies like that?! :cynic:

Clearly, the Iranian people deserve much better than this "circus" they have for a government in Tehran! And so does the rest of humanity if we're to have anything to do with them....

An interesting turn of events, with Iran admitting its error.

Fascinating that the US has never admitted its error in shooting down TWA800, 20+ years later.

They would never blame US in a way to seek retaliation. Didn't they missiled an empty base in the middle of the desert just to have an out they desperately wanted

It's telling how CNN's bouncing ball logic always stops on/with Trump. When in fact the whole adventure began with Iran sending Soleimani to kill and maim American soldiers, continued with decades of Soleimani's actions, which caused Trump to have him killed, and then ended back in Iran with Iranians trampling themselves and shooting down their own jetliner in their own country with their own rocket. Apparently, to CNN, our soldiers are nothing more than fodder for the pleasure of our enemies to kill and maim at their leisure. And CNN accuses Trump of treason? CNN is a prisoner of its own clever design. Will they blame Trump for that too?

It is quite astonishing. I don’t like the tariff happy buffoon myself, but give credit where it’s due—he got rid of a very evil man on the cheap. That’s brilliant.

CNN’s vision is so colored by its Progressive political ideology that if Trump created a cure for cancer they’d call it a reckless adventure that threatens the well being of children whose parents work in the cancer research industry.

Ah, good! YOU have proof that the "US" shot down TWA Flight 800?! Excellent! Please post your links to the evidence, findings, or proof! You will have done us all a great service!

The National Transportation Safety Board found after a very long investigation that the probable cause of the crash of TWA Flight 800 was an explosion of flammable fuel vapors in a fuel tank, most likely from a short-circuit in the electrical system.

But now we are going to find out that this was just a deceitful fabrication, because our colleague, @Eleuthera is going to set the record straight! The floor is yours.... :cheerleader:

And call for the candy man 5 times in front of a mirror—the boogey man will get...or, well, at least maybe John Wick—who’s a lot more competent, and therefore more frightening, then Russia, or Iran.

Iran is such a loser country. Trying to act all tough when their little terrorist general gets killed by shooting rockets at the Americans and """intentionally""" missing and then shooting down an airliner.

Iran is the global equivalent of Elliot Roger, a cringe factory full of impotent rage.

I admit I was wrong and it sounds reasonable that it was shot down under the presumption it was an American missile. There is though one tiny, tiny possibility that he might be lying and a deal was made with the US. (I have a very suspicious nature).

Many analysts speculated before the admission that the US was saying it was shot down to save Boeing which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Could a deal have been made with Washington to say that it was shot down by Iran in exchange for something like a new treaty or the removal of our troops from Iraq. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

WTF are you rambling about. Give it up. Boeing for all its troubles with the Max, is NOT on the verge of bankruptcy. Analysts?? Who are these analysts? Islamo-Nazi Iranian kooks?

Iran ****ed up. The U.S. was NOT jamming communications because we were NOT bombing that POS country. Iran is just reminding people of the shithole it is.

Like the old Sicilian proverb says, "Fish stinks from the head down...." The Iran 'problem' has far less to do with the country of Iran and its people, per se, than it does with the mentally-unbalanced, Islamo-Nazi priesthood that rules this unfortunate country.

If all these Mullahs, Ayatollahs, and other 'religious' creeps would somehow just 'go away' it might be amazing just how much potential for greatness the world might see in the Iranian PEOPLE themselves....

One small example: Iranian International chess master (2016), Dorsa Derakhshani, who was forbidden to compete for Iran because she wouldn't put a Muslim 'headdress' (hijab) on while competing for her country!

Well you had told them you were going to bomb them. They obviously do not know when you will tell the truth and when you will lie.

Iran has been very courageous and noble in admitting it shot down the airliner, something very few nations would do. When we shot down an Iranian airliner decades ago, we didn't even give it a second thought. Ukraine still hasn't admitted it shot down MI7. Instead it has been covered up with one lie after another to demonize Russia.

As for what you wrote on the bottom:

Let me add to the above. Princess Elizabeth who married Tsar Nicholas II's uncle the Grand Duke Sergius, was the sister of Alexandra and a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. When her husband the Grand Duke was assissinated by a terrorist she was not only one of the most beautiful woman in the world, but also the richest.

After forgiving her husband's killer and doing whatever she could to save his life and to get him to repent for his action - knowing it's what her husband would have wanted, Elizabeth started her own religious order in the Western style and became a nun. She used her money to open a monastery and hospital and help the poor and destitute in Moscow.

Elizabeth personally took care of the worse cases, and at times her clothes would smell so much of gangrene that they had to be burned. Being a nurse though was a legacy from Queen Victory and especially of her German husband Prince Albert. The Tsarina Alexandra and her two eldest daughters also assisted in the hospitals during the war - something which surprised the Russian soldiers who placed the royal family on pedestals.

Later on Saint Elizabeth was thrown down a shaft with the rest of the Romonovs and murdered by the criminal Bolsheviks. She has been glorified in the Orthodox Church and there is a statue of her is at Westminster Abbey. Prince Phillip's mother followed in her grandaunt Saint Elizabeth's footsteps and also became a nun.

Couldn't agree more. Why do the world should see iranians as some bearded wirdos that want to go to heaven ? As an iranian I can tell you with absolute certainty that more than half of the country are not only non religious but anti religion.

Truth? We did not bomb Iran. We eliminated a Iranian terrorist commander in IRAQ. If some Iranian military missile battery was in such poor control of what the hell it was doing, how is that the fault of the United States?

Think: if we had wanted to bomb Iran, the very first thing we would do is to go in and clean-out all the anti-aircraft batteries. We know where they are, and we have the weapons we need to destroy them from a LONG way away (far out of their 'range'). But the sheer, colossal stupidity involved in mistaking a civilian airliner for a potential enemy 'missile' is almost unimaginable in the 21st-century....

Can't you people just accept that Iran did the honorable thing and admitted it shot down the plane because it was waiting for a missile response from the Americans. The officer said he had 10 seconds to make the decision on whether he should shoot it or not, and made the wrong one and feels like killing himself. Instead all we get on the forum is name calling, insults, labelling, etc., when you people know that Washington will never admit anything and just lies about everything.

Can't you people see yourselves - and especially you Starjet when you keep criticizing people and say they follow their emotions instead of reason - yet it seems you're the one whose passions keep getting the best of you.
