I'm sure the Soviets have forgiven Germany for all the POW's they put in Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration camp. Watch your back.

Europeans tend to educate themselves before setting foot in a foreign country. Americans, given their poor education system, an environment that lacks intellectualism, along with geographic isolation from the rest of the globe... these are all salient reasons as to why they don’t seem to get along that well with the world, unlike their cousins across the pond.

However, this doesn’t mean they have ill-intentions, as the OP may be trying to suggest. They just don’t know how it’s done in other places, and generally think that it doesn’t matter anyway given that they’re number #1 at everything (which they are, as all the best and brightest of the world nations have immigrated to the US throughout the decades).

    Nice people, though!

AfD has two wings, a eastern German wing, led by Höcke which is mostly Anti USA, anti transatlantic and a west German wing which is mostly based on members from Bavaria and BW.

Since AfD has its biggest election results in eastern Germany, the Höcke wing has gained the upper hand.

Ah yes. The educated Europeans that brought two world wars and the hundred years war to the world. Clearly they think things through.

And you call Americans uneducated? Wow

Russian efforts to weaken the West through a relentless campaign of information warfare may be starting to pay off, cracking a key bastion of the U.S. line of defense: the military.
The president has embroiled his personal lawyer, his Attorney General, his Vice President and his Secretary of State in the conspiracy as well. And all of this is occurring even as the president rules under a cloud of suspicion about his own personal and business financial ties to the same rival power.
Trump is applauding Russia's victory in Syria after handing it to them on a platter
    I will stop.....for .....now!

Ok so you couldn't post any comments that Trump is aligning the US with Russia over NATO and must posted Democrat talking points.

You kinda prove my point here. Europeans are certainly more educated when it comes to being knowledgeable about the cultural nuances of foreign lands, and again this is due to their education system and close proximity to the East.

Americans excel in efficiency, but as their leader Trump exemplifies, can totally miss the point when it comes to issues not related to organizational effectiveness.

When you think about it, this makes sense, given that America was founded by peoples who were considered social outcasts of Europe. Social outcasts may not do so well when it comes to general interactions with other people, but they’re a truly effective and creative force in the world (which is again why America is #1).

Its painfully obvious you have no idea how those wars began. Particularly the first world war.

This is a stupid post and shows how little you understand. I travelled around Russia with a RV and was welcomed were ever I was, invited by families, who their little memorial corner in their house. They did not get angry when I told them that my father had been a German soldier and fought in the war against Russia. Opposite after tell their fathers history, or even with the old soldier sitting there, they wanted to know and I had to tell my fathers story, were he was, which battles, which medals and so on.
But they were more interested in the future. They said we beat you and I said yes and now we do business and not war, much better and they slapped me on the shoulder and laughed. There is no hate, because of the past. Same in central Europe, or Poland or any East European country. Get over it, its history. Germans do not think about the 10 of thousand soldiers and civilian, who were worked to death in the Gulags, or the brutalities and atrocities done by the Soviet occupation forces.
Its not 1945 or 1946 and so on, its 2020.
Russians want the same as Germans or Americans, or French, live in peace, work to make a decent living, have some fun.

Give you a hint, fly to Russia, rent a RV and travel, great country, great people.

Why is it that so many conservative Americans live in the past ?

Looks like your buddy is now a full blown dictator. Obviously he is going to play by the rules with Germany. Making deals with the devil will always cost you in the end.

Putin is a cold, ruthless, brutal, pragmatic and calculating dictator, but he is a known quantity. Nothing erratic about that guy, everything is calculated down to the last detail.
If one deals with a bastard like that, you know exactly what you have in front of you. If you deal with him, be prepared down to the last detail, because he is. Don't be sloppy and he will rip you of. He tried to play the game with Merkel once.
The dog thingy. Merkel has a serious problem with dogs. She was meeting with Putin and he let his dog into the room. Its a Putin dog, very macho. One could see her discomfort, but she did not flinch. Just one of those little tricks he has up his sleeves. Merkel did not fall apart as his advisers might have expect, or himself. Those are the gain respect moments he loves to do. You fail, he takes you apart. He is KGB.
No more dogs for Merkel, they talk as equals, in German and in Russian. Completely relaxed, even that Germany supports EU sanctions, eye level, respect, not liking. Cut a deal.
That is what the idiot in chief does not get and that's why he always looks like a beaten dog, when he had talks with Putin or Merkel. He dislikes them because they come prepared and are able to speak his language and he has the need for a translator and does not get the fine print.
The idiot in chief is not prepared for the world stage, never will be, a US Red Neck.

A dictator is the best option for Russia. He holds the country together and is the best option they have.

They got nuthin against the Americans and French, I'm sure they welcome their money tourists spend.

German mistreatment of Soviet prisoners of war

This and the war itself resulted in 3.3 to 3.5 million Soviet Deaths. My uncle died in a B-24 Liberator in the skies over Germany, to this day I wouldn't pee on any of them if they were on fire. Germany wants to forget because they were the aggressors, I'm sure the Soviets like the Americans can't forget their dead trying to stop them. Watch your backs dealing with them.

I'm sure she only wished to deal with adults. Putin may be despicable, and a whole host of other bad things, but he can at least act like an adult.

You claimed Russia needed a dictator. Does Germany also need to be friends with just dictators or just Russia's dictator.

I never cared for Trump's foreign policies. I will agree that Trump has been hurtful to German and USA relations, but your talk about Putin as an ally to Germany is far from valid.

So now that Germany and Russia are so chummy, can we dissolve NATO now?
