Once again politics makes strange bedfellows. I wonder if the organizers are thrilled with this. Antifa says they want to at least talk to conservatives:
Oh man. I really really hope they're sincere. From what I know of AntiFa (which admittedly is almost nothing first-hand), they don't value gun rights, but prefer that guns be illegal, and they'll just arm themselves illegally. Here'sto hoping I've been sorely misinformed. Because if not, they will provacateur a spectacle or even a firefight that could set the entire nation ablaze. To be fair, thats a huge risk even without AntiFa. Nothing would be a bigger roadblock to the pro-gun movement than an open-carry rally turning into a warzone on the eve of sweeping self-defense restrictions. If ever there was motive to provacateur something, it will be this rally. But on the flip side, VA isn't just banning ARs, they're banning virtually all self defense training and organization, which stands to ban AntiFa (which is essentially part of the militia whether they'd ever agree with that or not) from even being able to assemble. So they could be a legit ally. Here's to hoping! To any AntiFa reading- we gun owners of America would love for you to support the 2A with us (as long as you as long as you actually mean it.
