Indeed! People from the Right who engage in terrorism will go to prison, and so they should.

But if you do get caught planting bombs, maybe you can escape justice by pretending to be on the Left, a modern-day Bill Ayers:

Agreed. But when was the last time the left was lured out to be false flagged?

These laws VA is passing will never hold up in the SC. They know it. ...unless they can provacateur an emergency to bypass the courts. Thats what they're doing, and we are walking into it like fools.

Far better if folks just organized locally to refuse and resist the enforcement of these laws until the SC anulls them.

Very scary that conservatives will be descending on Richmond en mass tomorrow. We could see a repeat of the Tulsa riots.

If they are allowed to protest in peace there will be no violence. Unfortunately it is apparently unacceptable for conservatives to protest for anything without black shirted fascists showing up to engage in violence. Weird how that only goes one way. How many conservatives were attacking people marching in the million mom march? Why are conservatives not allowed to do a protest without being physically assaulted? Liberals NEEDS there to be violence tomorrow.... and by God you know they will instigate it if they have to. They need the message to be about conservative violence and the message of people standing up for their constitutional rights must be suppressed at all costs.

Rights belong to the citizens so they are stupid if they surrender them to an autocrat. If people really wanted to retain their right to bear arms everyone at the rally would carry one. Imagine a crowd of 100,000 or more armed citizens retaining their right to bear arms in plain sight. How would anyone be convicted because a tyrant wants to deprive them of their rights?

I'm an independent and a moderate on most issues. Conservative on some, Liberal minded on a few, whatever makes sense to solve human troubles.

If I could be there, I would be there to support the right of every American Citizen to carry a firearm for self defense. But I live a long ways away, in a Constitutional Carry State. So all I can do is wish the VCDL well, and hope for a peacfull rally.

I am not concerned about people's conspiracy theories. False flags and the like are sick fantasies from a disturbed fringe.

It is the most extreme elements on both sides that concern me. Liberals and Conservatives both have their fringe crazies willing to and even planning to make violence. After which each would blame the other for starting it and the anti-gun politicians would cease upon that violence, ignoring all facts to feed their assault upon a Constitutional Right..

Guess we will all know soon enough.

I can see why Virginia citizens might want some means of self-defense.
Here's a prominent Virginia Democrat advocate of gun control, Joe Morrisey.

And here's what Wikipedia has to say about him:
I know that my fellow upholders of the Second Amendment will not be interested in all the boring stuff about nude photos, sex with underaged girls, etc. so I've emboldened the bit of interest to you so you can skip right to it.

I thought that the most remarkable thing about this man is revealed in the last sentence.
Those Southern Baptists sure have changed since I was young. But then so has the Democratic Party.

    Lol...What paranoia.
But with so many armed “patriots” running around, you can expect some loss from friendly fire.

False flag operations are very unlikely, given the possibility of whistleblowers nowadays. And paranoia is the occupational hazard of the Right. However, sometimes we can make a good thing out of a bad thing, as Chairman Mao advised us to do: in order to try to dampen down all the crazies on the Right who are huffing and puffing about turning up in Richmond in full battle gear and arresting the governor and state legislature and trying them for treason [yes, there are people posting exactly this advice], it has been useful to point out that this sort of madness is just what the Enemy on the other side would want ... and so, if he has any 'sleepers' planted in the militia movement, this is what they will be urging right now.

It's been a small victory for the good guys that one of the most noisy, and noisome, 'militia' leaders, a guy named Chris Smith who goes by the laughable nom de guerre of 'General Bloodagent', and who has been responsible for several splits and bitter quarrels within the militia movement, is now widely -- although probably incorrectly -- perceived among militia members as an 'FBI agent'. But he's probably working for free, a textbook case of narcissistic personality disorder.

But ... there is a grain of truth in these suspicions. Anyone familiar with the history of double-agents in political movements, knows that to the extent that they don't just gather information for their handlers, when they take part in the inevitable political arguments about tactics within these movements, they ALWAYS support the most extreme side. From Roman Malinovsky, militant hardline head of the Bolshevik fraction in the Tsarist Duma, loved by Lenin for his intransigence (and an Okhrana agent), through to 'Agent K97' in the early Communist Party, who cast the deciding vote for continued 'underground' existence, through to the several FBI informants at the final convention of SDS, who voted to support the extreme faction in the National Office who became the Weathermen ... the informants always are on the side of the hardliners, the extremists.

Furthermore, during operation COINTELPRO, the FBI engaged in numerous deception operations -- trying, successfully, to stir up deadly animosity between the Black Panthers and Ron Karenga's Black nationalists, arousing suspicion that certain leaders of the Communist Party were FBI agents (when they weren't), etc.

Plus their informants have often come very close to the line of entrapment -- even going over it. (Of course informants have a material interest in doing this on their own, even without instructions from their handlers. They want to make the group they're being paid to inform on look as dangerous as possible, and so sometimes they help the group along in this direction.) Read about the case of Randy Weaver, encouraged by an informant to shorten the barrels of his shotguns so the informant would buy them, and thereby leaving Weaver open to felony charges, to see the proof of this. (The Weaver case -- popularly known as 'Ruby Ridge' -- should be known by everyone, both liberal and conservative. It's the classic case of government overreach, going after a harmless eccentric with obnoxious views, eventually resulting in the death of an ATF agent, and Weaver's wife and son. This, and the similar Waco case that followed soon after, were the inspiration for the deadly bombing in Oklahoma carried out by Timothy McVeigh.)

So the paranoia is not without some justification.

But the reality is, there are enough loud-mouthed ************ in the 'pro-gun' community to do everything that any 'false flag' planter would want.

None of the law is aimed at self defense weaponry. You can still have rifles, shotguns and handguns. What you can't have is weaponry designed specifically for massive casualties like gas ejectors and canister shotgun loaders. There are universal background checks and a return to limiting handgun purchases to one per month, this is to prevent people from buying in quantity legally and they selling to people who can't buy legally like felons and gang members.

Sounds like the law amounts to classic infringement to me, which is unconstitutional.

There are many laws of this nature that have been upheld by the courts as lawful. The 2nd amendment, despite how much you want it to is not an authorization the carry no matter what arms no matter where. That caveat is included in all cases where the courts have stricken down laws for going too far.
