    When exactly did the government actually invest in housing, education, transportation and "other government programs" that help build infrastructure in low-income areas?????

    Answer: Never Happens. Democrats leave the slums in their cities and their people poor and dependent on handouts.

    It's well past time to try something different....like the opportunity zones.

    In other words, lets hand millionaires another tax write-off scheme while we claim we want to close loopholes in the tax code. Its a con job.

    If that's how you prioritize who you vote for have at it.

    For me healthcare is a critical issue, and not just the societal impact, but for how much business can grow not being weighed down by insurance costs.

    Yes, I believe that rewarded investors with incentives to put their money where it is needed is better than punishing them by forcibly taxing them and "promising" to give their taxes to the poor - which may not have been their first choice on where to spend the money they earned. The government never has "fixed" slums.

    Insurance is merely a math science. Get government out of the way, open it up for competition, and I believe it will be affordable again as it once was. As Ronald Reagan once said...."Government is not the solution, it is the problem!"

    Government was and is out of the way...It was and remains a total disaster.

    But what regulations do you think you want out the way today?

    Only lefties determine what’s good for the country, through mandating what they want, and banning what they hate. And hate is never in short supply with them. When was the last time you saw a genuinely happy leftie?

    Vernan, I am not an expert, but I know for a fact, competition across state lines would be a big help. Tort reform would help the medical industry. You have ambulance chasers that sue at the drop of a hat. They should pay the costs if and when they lose. The drug industry is one big monopoly. Why don't foreign purchasers of Eli Lilly and American produced drugs share in the cost of research? That is why Mexico for instance gets our drugs for a third of the price. The AMA has way too much control of things.
    Donald Trump did pass legislation that gives patience "the right to try". So a terminal patient can sign a waiver and take the risk with drugs that are not yet fully approved.

    Competition is what makes entrepreneurs innovative and brings prices down. Look at the cost of computers! My insurance pays $14,000 for a PET scan. That is ridiculous. They do scans all day long. Dr.'s are doing more paperwork than time spent dealing with patients. Governmental control is the problem in most all these instances. That and corrupt lawyers. When I left home @ 18 years of age with no real skills, my father told me to always keep my health insurance in force. Never had a problem. It was affordable. So don't tell me it can't be done!

    They have found a new standard where the Democratic majority of The House votes to impeach the opposition party president if they make any policy decisions that they don't like. They would continue with the eternal tantrum.
