The engineering to put a colony on mars does not exist and would cost trillions
This is a next century solution

What do you mean the engineering doesn't exist? We have pressurized underground self sustaining bunkers here on earth. And the trillions we've instead spent trying to forcibly 'civilize the barbarians' in the ME is what I was referring to.

If you would be so kind, please tell me what responsible, proactive steps you are taking so I can consider implementing them myself.

It is estimated that the internet contributes 10% of the total greenhouse gases that are emitted into the atmosphere - I am going to do my part in reducing this by posting less on Political Forum. Will you join me?

I thought that had to be fake news, but indeed yes, the internet uses one tenth of the worlds electricity. And that's just to run it. Doesn't include the production costs of its various devices, but just the power they use once they're connected.

    Holy ****.

And it isn't just the electricity... all the components have to be built from mined raw materials, transported, installed, maintained, refurbished, upgraded, etc. The internet is extremely unfriendly to the environment. I like to kid myself that I am doing my part by using the ignore function on the blatant DNC trolls that reside here, in addition to a couple of the down-unders who are neurotically obsessed with the United States. Yes, massive walls of text are omitted, saving untold numbers of coulombs from expending their energy on pointless drivel, and in turn, saving the world!

I store aluminum cans in my attic. But that works too, apparently.

Trump made us a gigantic nonparticipant, bailing on Paris, promoting coal, attacking the efforts of states, removing environmental protections, etc.

Having other nations follow us on climate change would be a major world problem. It's lucky that they aren't.

Because opinion is so important when discussing science.

To start with, I'm a farmer and we farm organically. We utilize our entire property with a balanced approach based on terroir versus water and necessary farming practices. Regarding your fear that using a computer is detrimental to Earth, I invest and support renewable energy.
