MLK's holiday has never been exclusively for Blacks. That isn't what I said. I said the day should be reserved for remembering him. The people who planned this rally knew what day January 20th was. They could have chosen a different date.

Thank you for acknowledging you can't back up the claim you made, and that you made it up. I accept your concession.

Then ultimately what is the proper way for individuals to go about remembering Martin Luther King, if not lobbying government for what they believe so strongly in? Explain what the proper manner is, rather than claiming what was done was not the proper manner.

You seem confused. You made a claim. I called you on it, and challenged you to provide a citation to support it. You can't do that, because you made it up. It's amusing.

    1) Doing something to be of service to others who are less fortunate than you are.
    2) Ask yourself what you are doing in your daily life to promote racial equality/harmony.
    3) Study US history a little---enough to find out why we needed a Martin Luther King.
Those are just a few good ways to remember him.

How about... standing up for your rights against those who would take them from you?

You quoted the post.....Bravo! Very well said. Moriah was attempting to paint this as some kinda "white supremacist" rally. You notice SHE elected HERself as some kinda spokesman for MLK too?

Lobbying. There are many individuals who are unable to make their voices heard, so they must rely on those who can be heard to get their message out for them.

Again, lobbying. Firearm-related restrictions, without exception, always pose the greatest risk of harm to minority individuals who are more likely to be suspected of crimes by law enforcement, simply because they are minority individuals. These firearm-related restrictions are just one more reason for law enforcement to think up excuses to justify racially-motivated enforcement approachs.

Meaning speaking up on behalf of those who cannot do it themselves. Meaning lobbying government on behalf of the people it is supposed to serve, rather than special interest groups that contribute funding to campaigns for reelection.

No. No. No. All of your conclusions are incorrect. It's OK. I guess people can only see what they want to see.

I find it very interesting that some people try to connect gun rights with Martin Luther King. They said he would be in support of gun owners and a strong supporter of 2A.
Tell me: Do you believe he should have instructed his followers to use guns to protect themselves? Should they have shot the cops who put the dogs on them? Or the firemen who knocked them down with water hoses?

Not how this works. You made the claim, and bear the burden of proof. I already know your claim was pulled from your ass. I'm trying to see if you have the integrity to admit it. We can all see that you don't.

Same as everyone else- their use of a firearm is judge by the law.
If you shoot a police officer performing his duties, things probably wont go well for you.
If you shoot the people trying to rape and lynch your wife and daughter, it probably will.

Certainly, you believe he should have instructed his followers to use guns to protect themselves.

I can see you don't know much about the old South. If MLK's followers had defended themselves with guns, they would have all been killed. Those cops would have gladly killed them.
