    Some further detail about this point. The reason for the quote is that Vladimir Putin from November of 2019 had said, "Thank God no one is accusing us of interfering in US elections, they are blaming Ukraine."

    Schiff then followed up the joke line by saying, "I don't think we want Vladimir Putin thanking God for us because they do not wish us well. They are a wounded animal. They are a declining world power. They are a wounded animal and like any wounded animal, they are dangerous. Their worldview is completely antithetical to our own."

    So far, House managers have conceded the following:

    1. Burisma was corrupt.
    2. Hunter Biden was on the board of directors at Burisma. (House managers conveniently forget to mention that he had no qualifications other than last name)


    What neither they, nor anyone else, has provided is a plausible reason (other than corruption) for why Hunter Biden was on the board of a corrupt company in another country with no apparent qualifications. Making huge money. It looks shady as hell on the face of it. And the fact that it looks shady on its face is all the justification needed for an investigation. The fact that exposing Democrat corruption is coincidentally good for Trump's re-election prospects is not grounds for impeachment.

    The rest of the case is built on this. If Trump had reason (other than personal re-election concerns) to investigate, the House's case falls apart. You're just trying to get him on procedure at that point, and the House hasn't exactly followed procedure either, so that goes nowhere. What you linked is a press release from an undisputedly corrupt company, so we can't be expected to take it at its word. But even within it, I'm not seeing where Burisma isn't simply buying American influence. His main qualification seems to be "he knows people". And it was known, when Hunter took the job, that Burisma was corrupt. Surely that makes a prima facie case to investigate further?
