VFW seeks Trump apology for downplaying injuries from Iranian missile strike

The Veterans of Foreign Wars sought an apology Friday from President Trump for having “minimized” the injuries sustained by U.S troops hurt in an Iranian missile strike this month.

William “Doc” Schmitz, the VFW’s national commander, said the veteran’s group expected an apology from the president in light of the Pentagon reporting that 34 members of the U.S. military suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of the attack, which Mr. Trump described earlier this week as having only caused “headaches and a couple of other things.”

Donald Trump (Ol' Bonespurs/The Draft Dodger in Chief) making unconscionable statements downplaying (and making light of) the sacrifices of the Proud American Servicemen serving in Iraq.

Can anybody defend this?

The way that Trump is downplaying the effects of "Traumatic Brain Injuries", is unconscionable, outrageous, and an unforgivable assault on the dignity of our brave soldiers.

In light of this latest Trump Assault on the Dignity of American Soldiers, I find it unfathomable that any Military Veteran (or currently serving armed forces member) could possibly consider voting for Trump.

Why would Trump say such a thing?

Does Trump even care about the military?

Thoughts?

 

Either iran has mind blowing missiles of some kind or those soldiers are Democrats, attacking our country from within for their Iranian allies.

 

Presumably they have post-concussive syndrome which can only be diagnosed after 10 days.

 

Were all the troops affected or just some?

Why a single soldier, farmer, woman, minority, youth or general American votes for this clown, I'll never understand.. But it happened once so it could happen again...

I said the exact same thing about voting for most Democrats. As an unaffiliated that has voted for several democrats in the past, I surely will never give my vote to them again. They've done burnt some major bridges over the last 10 years and are only become more and more radical.

 

I prefer radical over criminal and incompetent (a really bad combination).... 30 times out of 29...

I believe that in this era, if you are a Democrat and an American soldier, you're either not a very good Democrat or not a very good American soldier.

Who cares about injured troops? Not you apparently.

 

Oh, I care. But certain posts and posters require certain responses because that's the level of discourse they operate at. When they're at the level of "So what," then that's the level of response they deserve. Prove me wrong, and emojis. Something like that.

My serious reply would include disappointment at Trumps response because trauma is a serious and natural response to such an event. And I've never claimed that Trump is the most mature person out there. But I rather doubt Trump is gonna apologize.

 

If we have injuries, we should retaliate.

I'm skeptical though. I don't put anything past people who hide hurricane relief from hurricane victims to hurt trump. I suspect the same shenanigans here.

Of the 34 injured service members, 17 have returned to duty and the other 17 were taken to a US military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany. Of those taken to Germany, eight were deemed serious enough to be flown to the US on Friday. Hoffman said that if the symptoms of those in Germany worsened, they also could be sent to the US. He added that the injured soldiers both US and Germany were being treated as out-patients.

50% of the soldiers already return to full active duty and the other 50% all being treated as outpatients. WWII vets call this shell shock and succumbed to 28 months of near daily bombing. Not only were they expected to return to combat immediately, but to forget about their symptoms and kick the Nazis a**.

I see 34 new military desk and kitchen jobs opening up real soon.

 

Besides Trump's claim that "no Americans were hurt" by Iran's missiles, which he subsequently tried to justify by minimizing the latest casualty figures from the Pentagon, he had also said that there was "minimal damage" done by Iran's missiles, saying something like a "helicopter" had been damaged! (Kind of like some soldiers had "headaches" line).

How can these gold-bricking service fakers compare with our President's experience with his traumatic bone spur injury??! Look, a few scraped desks and some dust, compared to our Dear Leader's trials and tribulations? Pshaw!

And his hazards with having his risks with the possible diseases in his other "boner spur" was a constant trial from staying home through the entire war!

I hope this troops can apologize to our wounded Commander In Chief quickly enough to not enrage this self proclaimed "Super Genius" and maybe any of "fantastic words" he uses all the time!
