The SENATE is supposed to supply a FAIR TRIAL not a continuation of the cover up.

I assumed she had longtime, good loyal staff help around her who helped her reach the tactical decision. :)

    They're idiots too.

Purportedly she got the idea to hold them from a suggestion on CNN.

She went too far and then had no idea what to do next. Just like they always do.

They never think 5 minutes ahead of their emotional breakdowns.

To Deny witnesses and documents is the same as hanging a guilty sign around Dirty Donalds body.

The House presented their case with what they called "overwhelming evidence." This is like them making the closing argument before the jury decides what if any punishment there will be. The President's defense lawyers make their closing argument claiming innocence, and seek to proceed to the punishment and sentencing segment, and that is their choice.

The Democrats here think that after the defense wants to move onto sentencing, the prosecution should be allowed to leap to their feet and demand more witnesses and more evidence, and just restart the inquiry all over again.

I would think you would be thrilled with this, because it's every prosecutor's wet dream. They can bring their case against the defendant, don't allow the defendant to call any witnesses or present any new evidence. The defense just says we'll go with the case brought against us, as is. Like I said, it's a prosecutor's wet dream.

The House Dems should have gotten a vote of the full House authorizing a committee to issue those subpoenas. Because without such a vote, those subpoenas are invalid. A few rogue congressmen don't speak for the full House. And they know that, which is why they withdrew the case from Court before a judge could tell them as much.

He doesn't need to be proven not guilty; he is presumed not guilty. It is guilt that must be proven, and the House rushed to impeachment without having proof.

The House only bothered to call 1 "first hand witness" and that witness ultimately corroborated the defense.
They could have subpoenaed all the first hand witnessed starting with the "whistleblower" and Steele.

Only a court can quash a subpoena. Did that happen?

To acquit when there is no prima-facie case in the first place, it to dismiss a load of BS masquerading as legitimate charges.

When a judge looks at a case that has no legitimate basis in fact, it is dismissed by summary judgement. No testimony or witnesses, because it lacked substance and should never have been presented for trial in the first place. That means that it WAS examined by the court, they had their hearing, and failed to get to first base.

This was totally a partisan manuver in the first place. IF the charges has actually been honestly written- they would have had two
"Trump won and we should have", and "We don't like him".

I know it's amazing that anybody could actually see that truth under the vast pile of BS they used to hide it, but that is the bottom line......
Dismissed. Murkowski just voted "No" on the witness question, and the door is now shut. Fat lady is stepping to the stage to sing the condolence.

And according to these dems, the Speaker of the House does not even need a formal vote from the House to authorize an impeachment inquiry. All they think they need is a nod from the Speaker to the committee chairman she appointed, to start sending out a flurry of subpoenas. The the entire Executive branch must give over all their power and authority to committee chairman. What a farce. Then the speaker and her committee chairman just wait to see if the president asserts his Right to executive privilege, and then impeach him for it. Goodbye separation of powers, hello House tyranny.

Nope, as soon as a judge said he was expediting Schiff's subpoena, Schiff withdrew the subpoena and made a motion for the court to dismiss.

The have become inconsequential to everyone but themselves, the rest of the logical society runs away from them like the in-law that's always wanting to barrow money :) ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

The complaint is that there were no witnesses called in Schiff's desire for an inquiry-do-over in the Senate

I think I can clear this up.

Let me put down the actual dictionary and pick up the Dictionary for Leftists.

    Let's see....fabricate facts....facial care....

    Ah, here we are:

Fair Trial: A situation in which Democrats get everything they want, the evil Republican POTUS is convicted and removed, and everyone gets a $200 pen.

I will always be hoping that everyone who believes that a no witness/document trial will one day be a victim of their belief. You will suffer for this and you will deserve it. This is a dangerous non-American precedent. Whichever case you bring to court or whichever case is brought against you will be decided by decree. You have advocated for and supported the end of due process.
