Well, it really didn't take much after all to destroy America. Just a senate more interested in power than holding the President to the standards they expected of Nixon. RIP
I voted for three Republicans in 2018 for my district so I think you are barking up the wrong tree. They do a good job locally for the most part.
What does your claim you just made have to do with you saying the Republicans didn't win the Senate? When they won the Senate...
Did Republicans have the senate prior to the election, yes or no? They maintained control of the senate. Like I said, semantics, don’t care
Of course they did. And then there was an election for ALL senators. LOL!!! And the Republicans won that election. Do you know how elections work? The Republicans don't just get to keep the seat. They have to WIN it again.
You claimed I lost the senate when I voted for a Republican. I apologize if that goes over your head.
What Trump did was obvious and wrong. No serious person disputes this. GOP senators are on record now saying what he did was wrong. We'll see mash-ups of Republican Senators scolding Trump in campaign ads. These senators even have an argument: nothing ultimately happened and we're going to settle this in Nov. anyway. Romney, however, is interesting. He's the first Senator to vote "guilty" against his own party leader. Only an idiot would ever think of Romney as a "liberal" or "leftist". Romney's little speech will also make it into campaign ads. A minor embarrassment for Trump.
Right. Because at the very least, people are interested our political process again. At most, they are beginning to shake off the apathy and see the nosedive we were heading for.
You did. You lost the Senate. The Republicans won. No one believes you voted for one- hence why we're ignoring that hilarious claim. It's like when Hillary got destroyed and all the lefties started saying "Meh- we never liked her anyway" lol!
He shouldn't have been the one to ask Zelensky to look into it. If Trump was that concerned, and I do believe he was, then he should have talked to the DoJ and let them handle it. That is what they are there for. Does he have the power to do what he did? Most certainly. But just because you can do something, doesn't mean that you should. There are proper ways to go about doing things. What Trump did was perfectly legal, but HOW he went about doing it was improper. He should be condemned for HOW he did what he did. Not because he did it. But HOW he went about doing it.
A little post-acquittal send off of the House Impeachment Managers... Hope none of them let the door hit them in the rear end on their way out. Defeated. Hey, hey, hey. Goodbye!
That will never happen sadly. Because neither side of the isle, is subject to law and order, like the people they claim to serve. Just a very sad fact.
That's incorrect, and Pelosi even disagreed with pursuing impeachment for a long time because of it. It's setting a precedent that we are now going to impeach people based on flex evidence and partisan witnesses. In fact, Biden is HAPPY AS HELL that it ended like this!
Thank you for the sincere reply. I might agree with you here, but Trump was not politically savvy, he is only, just now, really growing into his role. Who was advising him, I wonder, during this period? Surely someone was? I know Obama had like a million advisers and he was still a major Fck-up. He is to blame for the bastardization of America, her people and especially the armed forces and Law enforcement, but he did have advisers . Who was advising Trump on the Ukraine issue?
It's the Dems who are in a tail spin and need to start trying to recover. They have failed at every attempt and the independents have seen where they continue to take us. If Trump wins reelection and the Reps take back the House the Dems may as well not show up the Rep and the President owe them nothing but to sandroll over them.
Pelosi disagreeing with pursuing impeachment had nothing to do with it being legal or not. She was against it because she knew a partisan impeachment was not good for anyone, especially for the Democratic Party. Nothing that you stated here shows that it was not legal. What law did they break? You can't say Constitutional because the Constitution gives them the power to impeach.
