I never said anything about "valid". Stop putting words in my mouth. But, even assuming that I had said that, it still takes some mental gymnastics to arrive at the conclusion that an invalid impeachment could somehow result in a valid conviction.

They weren't allowed to call fact witnesses, and the president should not and has no obligation to take part in a "leave your rights at the door" proceeding.

Unfortunately, you're probably right on that one, at least in American history books. But only because Democrats have taken over academia and write revisionist, Democrat approved history. So yes, Democrat propaganda will favor Democrats.

 

The expectation of the House Dems was not to "win" and have Trump removed, no one really expected that outside of some emotionally control left leaning folks not paying attention to reality. . The aim was to turn public opinion against Pres Trump while appeasing their base who demanded more attacks on him.

The public relations attempt failed. His approval rating climbed during the impeachment. Opposite effect which in turns disproves your second point.

Sometimes political PR moves backfire, like the BREXIT referendum in 2016. Designed to silence those supporting a break from the EU once and for all it in fact brought about the exit of the UK from the EU. This impeachment might very well help Trump and the elephants, they might even multiply in the room as donkeys are forced to exit.

Nonsense.. The democrats were simply parading the same cast of liars, gossipers and idiot with an agenda and hatred for the president! The problem the Dems had was they were losing viewer and their desired effect was not anything they had hoped for.. Exactly. He was presumed innocent the entire time, and now has a verdict backing that up. So there will forever be a stain on this House, not this President.

The political stunt was disallowing fact witnesses, such that all you had was opinion about the hypothetical. It amounted to something like, "Can Johnny be arrested for stealing a TV?", and you pull out 20 law professors saying that, yes, stealing a TV is an arrestable offense. But no fact witnesses that say Johnny actually stole a TV.

But I do not think the majority of the left is willing to wait much longer. Their absolute obsession with getting Trump out of office is not allowing them to think long term. I would bet they would agree to lose in 2024, 2028 and 2032 if they could just win in 2020. I think many are that obsessed with Trump not winning again. So in that regard at least this impeachment was a huge
"lose" for the Dems.

 

The fact remains that is was an ill founded attempt ginned up by ONLY democrats for a political coup. It was bound to fail from the get go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An entire political party disagrees. But I guess we'll never know, since they weren't allowed to testify. But if that were true, the prosecution would have had nothing to fear by allowing them. Any FACTS that disagreed with the narrative were carefully cut out. Any fair process allows both sides to present evidence.

 

Do you carry over the same narrative with trump not allowing witnesses? He must have been guilty then, right? Nothing to fear?
