I have a family and responsibilities, it keeps me from committing crimes. It also keeps me from doing things that I consider dangerous, like provoking emotionally or mentally unstable people.

But everyone is not the same, and IMO, as the political divide worsens and peoples emotions ratchet up, I think we will see many more attacks like this, from both sides.

Do you want to prevent that? I don't think it is possible. People want rights without responsibilities. Neither side wants compromise. Both sides pile all the blame on the other side.

While I am not a fan of either party, the left is known for violating first amendment rights for those with opposing views. Until recently, college campuses used the "Free Speech Zone" to violate free speech rights for anyone not towing the lefty line. Trump protesters set up tents, passed out fliers, and used bull horns while a student passing out copies of the constitution was threatened with removal my law enforcement if he didn't move to the "Free Speech Zone"
