When trump loses or is forced out of office, whether this year or in 2024, will you support the right of secession?

Do you support legalizing secession now?

Why would Trump run in 2024?

I always have and will support the right of secession. No system that coerces participation is worthy of cooperation.

The US government will never allow secession. Look what happened to the South when they tried it.

I think I dislike Trump more than any previous American politician, but I think America should become multiple countries. Culturally, California and Texas just don't belong together. Our politics are ridiculously divided and it's dysfunctional to continue as one country, but we probably will unless something catastrophic happens.

I think states should have the right to secede, but I don't think it would be wise to secede except as a last resort.

Does the US have the right to evict a state that it deems to be irresponsible and refusing to comply to federal standards?

I don’t think the federal government would allow secession — especially of states that contribute more to the national economy than the lowest half of the country does combined...

Ignoring that states with similar ideology are kind of spread across the map, you would also have the issue of which group of states remains the US while the others become a new nation. Blue states have the population and economic conditions while red states have... Texas and land...

The other option would be to, instead of breaking up the nation, simply reallocate much of the Fed's authority back to the states. Let CA open its borders to unlimited immigration and let anyone in Arkansas buy machine guns. As examples.

The real question is, if Trump wins, will the OP support secession?

Then you're an anarchist. There's no government in existence that can survive without "coercing participation".

Hmm, there wasn't an answer that suites me.
It may be shocking to some here but i am not a Trump supporter. I did not vote for him. I may or may not vote for him in 2020.

I am not a big fan of states rights. Nor am i a big fan of a strong federal government.

I am more and more becoming a conservative independent.

I think the right to states to go their own way gives lots of power to state governments. I want people to have the power not any government.
We were intended to be self governing.

The Democrats currently all seem to be for taking our already huge and bloated government and making it bigger still.

I absolutely have to vote for people who'd at least not vote to make government bigger.

I prefer a president who attacks government like the grim reaper. Maybe making it half or less of what it is now.

    I prefer revolution to succession

Im pretty close to an anarchist, its true.

While ur right that no such govt exists, I reject that this means it never could. Though Im not so naive as to believe it ever will either.

But that doesnt mean we can't make it less and less powerful/authoritative. Smaller.

I can see us going the hive-mind route. We're social creatures, and if they ever get the tech going for neural internet-interfaces, I suspect most people would retreat to an online existence, emerging just to work and maybe do some nature stuff occasionally so you don't feel like a total robot. Kind of like it is now. If we're all linked intimately to each other, I don't think you would need much by way of government.

    So you support mob rule?

You certainly don't want Joe Sixpack making important decisions, like we have now in the WH.

We already know, no democrat will support the President of the United States.

They didnt do it in 2016, and they wont do it in 2020.

I have made it clear many times that yes, I do support the right of secession and want my State and others to secede. The US died the day trump was elected. I want no part of a country that would elect trump or anyone like him.

We don't need the red states and they have been a plague on liberty for generations. The Blue States are the drivers of the economy. Beyond that, the South never really has accepted their loss. That is why they still want to glorify the men who waged war on the US and fly their flag. And red heads hate Blue States. So lets just agree that the grand experiment failed and go our separate ways. No need for a civil war.

Just California would stand as the sixth largest economy in the world. The West Coast is a great country!

Joe Sixpack can make better decisions than anyone we have had in the white house in decades.. lots of decades.

an ivy league education doesn't mean jack if you are dumber than a box of rocks. example the entire Johnson administration

Well it's possible you'll get your wish. I was shocked that the hysteria from the 2016 election has still continued largely unabated up to now. Just this week there have been several attacks of "blue" people on "red" people. If Trump wins again, I frankly don't know what you guys would do.

I would rather we stay together and simply return to the founder's idea of a federalist system so we could stay out of each other's hair and each state could be as loony left, or hard right, as they want. However it seems the left won't accept that common sense solution and would rather tear the country apart if they can't impose their will on the entire country. So rather than put up with the terrorism, bombing, or whatever you guys would turn to if Trump wins again, I would say let you go.

You are asking the same people who DID NOT riot in the streets when Obama won in 2008 and in 2012? Why would those same people suddenly riot and bellow for secession at the end of 2020 or 2024 if Trump loses? It seems that the political Left is getting confused again between the TYPICALLY radical responses by the Left whenever they are disappointed or thwarted and how the Right actually functions. Still, thanks for asking.
