Who said anything about Stone getting away easy? Do you think that anything less than the ludicrous 7-9 years is getting away easy?

Yes, impossible for him to do his job in this specific circumstance. That's no reason to resign.

The part which suggests that Barr is only acting because Trump told him to.

When do you expect the intervention would happen? DAYS after the sentence is handed down? The important thing to remember is that Trump's tweet and the intervention happens within 24 hours of the decision. That's pretty expected. You have chosen to compare the date of Trump's tweet to the AG's intervention because that suits your conspiratorial narrative.

I don't think Trump should be tweeting about this stuff, but he broke now laws. You're gonna need a bigger smoking gun than this. I think I can come up with better ideas
    1) Trump Jr. shot Bambi's mother on one of his hunting expeditions
    2) Trump was responsible for the Jedi Rocks scene in the 2011 special edition of Return of the Jedi
    3) Trump colluded with RUSSIAN boxer, Ivan Drago, to commit the murder of Apollo Creed, A BLACK MAN!
any of the above should work much better than the boring old russia and ukraine hoaxes

It's unrealistic to think laws preventing all the various actions Crooked Donald has taken would have been written. Largely because it is unimaginable to most Americans that any prez would behave this way. When you have to resort to justifying his behavior by saying........"well, it wasn't illegal"..........you've lost the battle before it began.

What, he did his job, intervening in cases just like Eric Holder did?

Cite me an example of Holder intervening in a criminal case involving a personal friend of Obama's. I have to say it's very disturbing to see you folks constantly excuse Trump's behavior with these fatuous whataboutisms. Over and over you rely on factually inaccurate statements you've picked up from right wing media and you never question their veracity. You really should. You should have started asking yourself a long time ago......"is what I just heard really true?"

Even if Holder had done something similar, which he didn't, BARR WAS STILL WRONG FOR DOING WHAT HE DID. HE DID THE OPPOSITE OF HIS JOB, TO ISSUE FAIR AND IMPARTIAL JUSTICE.

It's not whataboutism if I'm not excusing a bad thing that Barr did because of a bad thing that Holder did. I'm saying that both Holder and Barr were doing their jobs. The difference is, you want to say that Holder was okay to intervene but Barr isn't. How convenient!

So if Stone wasn't a friend of Trump, you wouldn't have a problem with Barr intervening?

    Yes.

If you can't do your job on every circumstance, you should resign. But, of course, this is more than likely another Barr lie.

    Never!

The person for whom it is impossible to do one's job given the Tweeter-in-Chief's tweets is in reality not necessary Billy the Bagman..........it's Judge Jackson. Someone who is under constant attack from the POTUS over a case involving his friend and longtime adviser....................which could not be more inappropriate and unprecedented..............other than the other instances when the Bloviator-in-Chief has interfered with the work of other judges trying to do their job.

Judge Unwilling to Delay Stone Sentencing Amid His Retrial Bid
    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/judge-unwilling-to-delay-stone-sentencing-amid-his-retrial-bid

A federal judge appeared unwilling to delay a sentencing hearing scheduled for Roger Stone later this week, amid an effort by Stone to secure a retrial in his case.

U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said Tuesday at a teleconference hearing that it would not be “prudent” to further delay the sentencing hearing, but said she’d delay the execution of the sentence until after the retrial request was resolved.

“I am going to keep the sentencing where it is,” she said, as she denied a request by Stone’s lawyers to delay the sentencing. Lawyers for the Justice Department said their preference was to proceed to the sentencing hearing as scheduled. An order from the judge issued after the hearing also revealed that the Justice Department was opposing Stone’s bid for a new trial.

Why is it getting away easy? You think that's a normal sentence for the crime?

    Your opinion.

So Barr shouldn't have intervened JUST because Stone happened to be a friend of Trump's?

I'm still waiting for you to cite an example of Holder intervening in the criminal case of a friend of Obama's. You can't claim "Holder did the same thing" without proving it.

I didn't say that Holder did the same thing, I said that he intervened, which is to say that he did his job, just like Barr is doing.

When did it become the AG's job to intervene in a case involving the prez's friend at the prez's request? That's the opposite of his job, which is to make sure the DoJ is fair, impartial, and not swayed by politics.

Barr is doing a fine job. There is no national uprising against him, although some Deep Staters are scared.

Are you saying Barr has no supervisory role over people working for him?

If he sees they’ve made an error, shouldn’t he correct it?

Then you have no problem with Barr and the sentencing guidelines.

Stone has the same rights as any other citizen. The fact that he happens to be Trump's friend doesn't change that. You are suggesting that because he is Trump's friend, he isn't entitled to the same rights as any other citizen.

And that points out the vast POWER of the Presidency

Given a sycophant GOP Senate , there is almost NOTHING that he can't "legally" do...
