I always thought that Whitney Houston had one of the best voices that I ever heard. I don't know... I didn't listen to her much. Maybe I got a false impression of her. Maybe it's because I didn't listen to many of her songs. I just didn't like the performances that I heard.

She had such a beautiful voice, but her performances suffered from having too many notes.

Thats really interesting. Mariah Cary does that for me. Aretha Franklin also. Legionary singers and for good reason but listening to them at times was uncomfortable in the same way.

There's a point in that song, at about 1:50 in, where she shoots her hand up into the air. I think that it's so impressive that, as she lowers her hand, she lowers her pitch - with no breaks at all.

I'm not sure if I was complimented or insulted. ;)

I like it here. I like the people, most of the food, and the scenery. I go north once a year for pizza, a Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll, and a couple of hugs with family. Matter of fact, I am convincing another Damn Yankee to leave that God-forbidden state and come south.

We live to make your life interesting. :)

Polenta is a killer on the blood glucose, sky-high spike for hours. Grits, while dangerous, at least raise your blood sugar politely and doesn't blow you through the roof.

I agree it really is impressive. The whole thing is really impressive and she's young.
That scary part she does at 1:05 is hard to do so clean and breathy. Its scary as well as captivating. Very cool.

Its definitely a compliment. I would not intentionally insult you. Its not my nature.
We have family who moved down south many years ago and they never regretted it. We were actually discussing shrinking down what we own and moving some day. All the places we consider moving to are more north than we are now. Thing is, Im comfortable where we are now and finally settled in. Never say never.

I wont eat it because of this reason. I ate someones dog or cat years ago and thought it was tasty.
The place I went to that had the best food closed down one day. There was a note on the door they were shut down. My friend worked at a restaraunt near by and I stopped in and asked what the deal was. He said, domestic animals in the cooler. I said, no really why did they shut them down. Domestic animals in the cooler and he was not kidding. From that point on if I ate any Chinese food it was vegetables and never any non distinguishable meat.
One time I worked with this guy. He bitched all day long about his dog getting loose. I gave him a ride home and saw he lived near a Chinese take out. I got all serious and told him about the domestic animal situation and said, Id go check around for the collar. Ahaha he flipped out swearing up a storm all set to storm the place. I was laughing then and now typing that. His dog came home and all was well.

Was it chicken almond ding? Was the texture of the chicken like nothing you ever had before but it tasted really good?

I was teasing. My skin be thick, no matter anyhow. :)

Are you married to my spouse? Me, I could take our space or leave it, the sunrises are about the only thing I enjoy on this spit of dirt. Spouse's feet are glued to this place, ignoring a house that is literally, and I do mean literally, falling down in pieces, property so much of a hill that there is only about a 100x100 workable for a veggie garden and parking. Give me about 2 acres in the country of relatively level land, a simple, easy to keep house, a couple cats and I'd be perfectly happy.

Never say never. I will use the word voluntary as my caveat.

When spouse and I went to Sacramento years and years ago to see the MIL, we wandered our way through a parking lot to get to a restaurant. In the parking lot, there was a Veterinary office... next door to a Thai restaurant. We still joke about it to this day

Glad your friend's dog was well.

We salt down the cabbage and let it sit. This pulls the moisture out of the cabbage so it isn't as wet when assembling rolls. You can rinse cabbage to get rid of the salt... pat dry and put ingredients in the roll. Less volatile that way.

Chinese food is very popular in my area. There's a place called Sesame Express that delivers Chinese and Mexican. Now there's your mystery meat. Ever dissected a tamale?

Back when I still had a job, I would stop at a Mexican restaurant that was owned and operated by a Chinese couple.

    They served good food.

When I was a kid they served them at the drive in theater. I never cared for a tamale.

dare wish yer precious Homemade Ice tea have as mush a drop of
any thing sour.Maybe not as much a squeeze of lemon.
My Grand Ma Ma loved her tea.Not a coffee person.I can't recall
her using Sugar. But dat lemon was a necessity.
Go Figger. People are as habit forming as Icelantic
    Icicles in Norway.
