Laws are meant to be reasonable, to be tempered with mercy and to have a purpose. Besides simple bigotry, most immigration laws have none of these.

 

Purpose is obvious. We can't absorb the entire population of poor uneducated unskilled workers of Mexico and all points South.

You need to do some research on Mexico and its poverty and corruption well before any American interference which would be all dates prior to Polks war.

 

And you need to do some research on the histories of Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras during the Reagan years and beyond. I don't hate America, I think America has been the hope of the world for almost 250 years. I don't think very much of the people whose main purpose seems to be to radically change that though.

 

Try researching those countries before any American involvement and you will find they were the same corrupt poverty stricken shitholes and if you are looking to blame outside forces you may want to look at the colonial powers of the 18th century.
All America did during the Reagan years is to keep them from becoming Soviet satellites.

 

And as illegal aliens are in the united states, the rule of law is supposed to apply for them as well. Meaning their presence is illegal and they can be removed as a result.

Reagan wrecked their economies and much of their infrastructure by supporting "Anti-Communists" who tried to topple democratically elected governments and eventually became the gangs that so beleaguer those nations now. The Soviet Union went bankrupt in 1989, I don't think they were trying to support any new satellites in the 1980s since the satellites in Europe and especially their effort to take over Afghanistan were what was bankrupting them. Why we are so against having economic duplicates of Denmark and Sweden, which was what was actually being proposed, is beyond me. We have substantial components of those economies in our own.

 

Trespassing involves private property. The USA is a polity, not a freehold. I reside in the USA and I own the property I am on. I don't own the whole nation and neither do you.

What actually occurred was the Soviet Union with help from its proxy Cuba and Castro attempted to spread the communist revolution throughout South America and if they had succeeded we'd have more Venezuelan type failed states to our south and things would be even worse.

 

Imagine for a moment that anyone who enters the US is immediately allowed to stay.
Where will they live?. The rents in most towns and cities is astronomical, so as they are impoverished they won't be able to afford to rent an apartment, so the government will be expected to somehow house them.
Where will they work?. We already have many US citizens unemployed, and there are only so many jobs to go round, so the government will be expected to give them cash handouts.
I could go on to include overloading our schools, hospitals, etc.
The US economy can only cope with a definitive number of welfare recipients, and I believe we have exceeded that number already without adding a few extra million outstretched hands.

 

Laws are meant to protect the rights of the American people.
This includes immigration laws, as non-Americans have no right to be here.

I was a registered Republican up until just about 10 years ago, though I seldom voted that way, and that was not who I was referring to. The people I was referring to are the alt. right and white nationalists and I was never one of them.

We are at record low unemployment levels, we could stand several million new workers and most are at the lower levels.
