Joe Biden under probe in Ukraine for alleged link to top prosecutor’s 2016 ouster: report

Investigators in Ukraine have launched a probe into former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden over allegations that he pressured Ukrainian officials to fire the country’s top prosecutor in 2016, according to a report.



The Ukrainian probe was launched in response to a court order, after the ousted prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, made an appeal for action in the matter, Shokin’s attorney, Oleksandr Teleshetsky, told The Washington Post.

“They need to investigate this. They have no other alternative,” Teleshetsky told the Post. “They are required to do this by the decision of the court. If they don't, then they violate a whole string of procedural norms.”

Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigations confirmed a probe was underway, the Post reported.

Well, with all the Coronavirus news and a nationwide Trump-bashing, this is going under the radar but I think this news is significant and shows how little rational thought went into decision by the Democrats to start President Trump impeachment procedures over the Ukrainian phone call. Poor ole Joe Bite_me and the Jr., they both have to thank Pelosi and the Democrats for their blind hate!

How far will this probe go? I was hoping that Sanders will win the nomination, but now I think nominating Joe Biden will be more fun.

I can see in the end Trump having to tell the Ukrainians that he can't let them jail the former Vice President no matter how deserving he is of that result. Joe Biden bragged about blackmailing the Ukrainians into firing the prosecutor that was going after his son. Pretty much all Biden's handlers can do in the end is to point out that Biden has gone senile and can no longer distinguish between facts and lying dog-faced pony soldiers.

So Trump's People are realizing that Biden is once again becoming a threat, and the RW Outrage Machine has moved away from Bernie and is back around to targeting Biden?

Anyway, Biden should be overjoyed.

Trump's people are (once again) clearly terrified of Biden.

In any event, if any crimes were committed, I am sure that Biden will face the full weight of justice.

Does Ukraine have the Death Penalty?

Huh. So the Prosecutor Shokin who as removed by his own countries Parlimentary Vote, 3 months after Biden left (Biden was there in Dec, they finally removed him in March), asked to have this investigation open.

So what is the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations? Well lets look.

Oh fancy that. Because of the Anti-Corruption reforms backed by the International Community (Biden among them) that ended up deposing Shokin,.... well I'll let this explain it

Shokin asked for the investigation, the Police or Prosecutors office refused to open a case stating that there was no criminal offense, and so Shokin filed a claim, which FORCES the addition of the claim to the Pre-Trial investigations and start an investigation.

They literally have to do this because of the reforms. So Shokin is basically playing more shell games to try and get himself outta trouble and blame it all on Biden using the current chaos in the US Political System to help himself.

Heads up Patriots.. this investigation is going to take awhile.. Unlike the manufactured Mueller Report.. this investigation has a lot of leads to track down.

If allowed to run it's course the probe could wind up ensnaring a lot more people than the Bidens.

I was just reading the interfax article again to figure out how this is set up, and I think I agree with you.

The motion was filed by Shokin's lawyer, but the court ordered it to be opened. Must be that the court thought it has merit.

 

I'm a bit torn on how the dems will play ol' Bernie.
I have a theory that some dems have calculated that they stand no chance of unseating an incumbent president during good times, the socialist in their party are grabbing power, and the Bernie Bros will riot against the DNC if they perceive Bernie is cheated again; they could just let Bernie and his buddies have it suffer a humilating defeat,..... the dems problems solved.
