There is no free press in communist China. In the recent Hong Kong crackdown against protesters and journalists, as well medical providers during the Wuhan flu-we see attempts to silence any non-state approved media. This is also a reminder that the road to socialism/communism always ends in eroding the rights of the individual. A prime example is how the left seeks to censor opposing viewpoints.
Really hard to oppose this move when all three of these organization have been labeled fake news. China can just make the argument that they are revoking the media credentials for fake news organizations. Even Donald Trump says that fake news is the absolute enemy of the people.
They do. The NYT just quoted part of a Trump tweet regarding ventilators and purposely took it out of context. A total fabrication of what Trump was saying. A fake story. A LIE!!!! One of 1000s the NYT has produced the past 3+ years, using misleading headlines, fabricated stories based on “unnamed sources” and editorials masked as actual news. And that’s just one paper. Compound that with CNN, MSNBC, and just about every other news outlet out there that claims opinions are NEWS. It’s why Trump called it Fake. And why he didn’t call the MEDIA the enemy. That’s another FAKE story. He called the Fake News Media the enemy. There is a BIG difference. He said the lies are fake and they are. He completely correct. Media that lies is the enemy of the people because the people believe the lies. Russia anyone? Trump is racist? Trump is homophobic? Trump hates women? Trump is a Nazi? Trump hates immigrants? Trump banned Muslims just for being Muslim? The CoronaVirus didn’t originate in China so don’t call it Chinese? It goes on and on. Fake fake fake fake.
We see this here as well - and it is not always related to socialism Facism .. Islam - various other totalitarian societies. Our lesson for today is on the capitalist variety - where the right is in lockstep with blue - Establishment - I have mentioned this before - .. its not where these factions disagree that the devil is found. but where they agree - not always ... but that is were the dirt lies. How has our propaganda machine handled Assange - Snowden ? Don't see the red side waving the banner of liberty - freedom of speech. They have muzzled Facebook, Youtube, Google .. and so on. Forced them to censor under the Trumpette. Lets see what happens with FISA - We do not have fair and free press and freedom of information is under attack.
And after all the boot licking the press has done to kiss up to China after they cried about COVID19 being called the China or Wuhan virus.
Ironic that the communist govt of China kicks out the US press for telling the truth in China while they lie in their own country and yet Trump is the bad guy for pointing out that they lie about him but they still can report in the US unfettered, whether it's the truth or not and he will still be the boogie man even as he sticks up for them. American, what a country!!!! And they wonder why nobody in the US believes reporters.
And just how dangerous Totalitarianism is not to just their own people but the folks who maintain trust relations with them.
