We have a much, much better economy now than we ever had under obama. After the last three years of prosperity, we are in a much better position to weather this storm.

Not sure the "let's fly helicopters over the country and drop $100 bills" has never been a good stimulus. But this is more a maintenance/liquidity thing. This is not just an economic situation this is government shutting down things and people not being able to go to their jobs. I think tax holidays should come first, keeping businesses operating and employees on the payrolls.

Yes as I noted and these "stimulus checks" during a purely economic slowdown do little to stimulate the economy. But this is different.

If you really want to make a comparison it would be to 2001 which had 911 just as we were coming out of a recession and the Republicans STILL did better than the Democrats did in 2008.
