Is at hand, or perhaps that dignity is in even shorter supply than toilet paper.
I went to the grocery store this morning to pick up some more tea, and a few other items. As usual for another day of covid crazy, it looked liked the locusts had got what the buzzards wouldn't have. Managed to get what little I needed headed to checkout where I heard most sordid story.

It seems a woman unable to find hand sanitizer on the shelf had tried to purloin one from one if the check out lines. The manager told her to put it back, where upon she pulled open the bathrobe she was wearing and offered to exchange sexual favors for the bottle of hand sanitizer that probably wasn't much more than 2/3 full.

Not exactly sure what to think about this, myself. It is certainly grotesque. For some reason it also puts me in mind of he Poe story "The Mask of the Red Death"

Always keep a good distance at all times from those who go shopping in pajamas and slippers, too.

Reminds me of the jokelore gal in a bathrobe who would not open the door when a man came knocking. But then she asked his name. Then she spread her arms wide, bathrobe fell open, she opened the door, and quivered aloud, "Mr. Conway Twitty!!!!!" He just said, "Hello Darling."

    That kinda explains things...sadly

We had a run on grocery stores here in upstate NY...and I didn't see anything like that behavior...certainly not anything like that woman

And oh yea...the stores are back to almost normal here

If it were the apocalypse then the manager would have accepted the offer, taken off his clothes too and engaged with the woman right there in the checkout line.

Or... it was just another routine episode in San Francisco or a typical Florida day in Broward county

A veiled shot at the midwest, why??? Oh you're from New York? That kinda explains things. Things are back to normal in NY? That's laughable, NYC being the epicenter of Covid19 in the US. 46000 infected, over 600 dead. What's more laughable is someone finding something local to brag about during a national crisis.

There's crazy people everywhere and Karen types abound. If it weren't for the current crisis this would be just another story like someone being an idiot in a drive thru line.

    Where did I say that?

Here let me help you since reading (or honesty) seems to be an issue for you

"the stores are back to almost normal here"

And as noted...that is also UPSTATE NY

Please try to be more accurate in what you claim other posters say

Makes no sense to me at all. If you're a believer you're supposed to trust in God and let Him take care of the situation whatever it may be. I don't live my life much differently than I did before but then I've always been a home body. Still though I try to be friendly to everyone regardless of race creed or color and help out whenever I can though taking care of my wife, stroke and diabetes, is very nearly a full time job in and of itself.

I’ve noticed an odd trend on this site with people reading what they THINK someone is posting instead of reading what is ACTUALLY being posted.

Soooo, we'll just let your shot at the midwest slide???How honest is that? "the stores are back to normal here", could be taken as as a statement of fact if it weren't prefaced by your snide remark. How's that, accurate enough?

How honest are you by misquoting what he actually said, which is...
“And oh yea...the stores are back to almost normal here”
So no, you weren’t ‘accurate’ enough.

I hope they're back to almost normal here, since I'm out of perishables like milk and bread and will have to go out today. I'm also in need of dish soap, something I haven't been able to find in weeks. Dish soap, ffs!

I can't for the life of me understand why some people seem to want to buy a ten year supply of some something that will be unusable in three weeks.

That isn't odd, it's perfectly normal for political forums. Some users are here because they want a fight, and if they don't find one, they'll start one by making assumptions.

Shampoo works. Just rinse well. Not in a dishwasher machine, of course.

Milk and bread are close to impossible to purchase here.

The story is hard to take seriously, but I know many are desperate to protect themselves from the Trump Virus.

I found one of the last two bottles of Dawn.

Bread and milk were plentiful here, but nary a tissue or paper towel to be found. Seriously ... paper towels? How do they figure in to the zombie apocalypse? One roll lasts me a month, ffs. What are they doing with miles of paper towels?

    smh ...
