Pink is donating $1 million to fight pandemic after weeks with coronavirus

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/03/celebrities/pink-coronavirus-donation/index.html

Pink said on social media Friday that she and her son spent weeks in isolation after positive tests for Covid-19 but a few days ago they both tested negative for the deadly infection.

She said when she and 3-year-old Jameson started showing symptoms two weeks ago they were already sheltering in place.
Pink said she felt fortunate her doctor was able to get her and her son tested.
"It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible," she wrote on Twitter.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

The quick tests for coronavirus are less accurate, there's false negatives and false positives. Half of the tests, detect the virus but is based on concentration of the virus, those are the less reliable. The other tests ( like the one used in Mexico ) takes a bit longer but it detects RNA of the virus so it's 99.999999 reliable.

When we can finally get a quick 15 min. test that is accurate, it would help to diagnose those people with little or no symptoms quickly and get them in quarantine. My friend's daughter lives on Long Island, NY where the epidemic is rampant. She had very little symptoms, a slight fever, fatigue and headache, she tested positive and is fine now.

Why did you use a test in Mexico?

What's that got to do with getting a TEST from Mexico?

Would you prefer it if she had not donated the money?

Do you think she contracted the virus and infected her three year old son on purpose?

You may be having difficulty stringing together more than one comment in order to understand the context of my comment

I love how folks are always hating on celebrities for donating money like this because they are so rich. These rich celebrities and big businesses with their millions of dollars are still donating way more than "you" are.

They don't HAVE to donate anything....Sure a million bucks to them would be like you donating a hundred bucks but it's still more money than you are giving and they are under no obligation whatsoever to give anything at all. What are people expecting from them? Are they supposed to donate a huge percentage of their wealth or something to make the "hit" on them equal percentage wise to the hit on the average Joe who donates?

I haven't donated anything, and even if I did it sure as hell wouldn't be a significant percentage of my net worth...

    Good for her.

It is amazing how you went from not knowing who Pink was to watching one of her videos and then come to the conclusion her donation is virtue signaling.

Pink is worth about 200 million. So a million to her is like perhaps $500 to the average person with 100K in net worth

Trump claims to be a billionaire and donated 100K, and trumpers were all oozy over that.

Never mind that just his golfing fees are in the millions.

Do my preferences or beliefs make her post about herself?

    That's good of her.

But YOU can help by essentially doing nothing. Stay home unless you absolutely must go somewhere. Literally speaking, you may be saving a life by just staying home.

I asked you why you got a test in Mexico and you replied by talking about "statistics and information."

Yeah, I can probably actually draw the 'no clue who Pink is' line at 49!
