We had the full case counts, genome and transmission informmation from China before Dr. Fauci said that.

You fail to identify the full quotes from Fauci, so there is no telling what the context was. Was he assuming an aggressive US response? I know he gave quotes that were based on levels of US response.

If he was considering that we would give an aggressive response based on expert medical directly, he absolutely guessed wrong on that.

We've had 40,000 arrive from China since we "closed" that travel. And, we STILL don't have travel restrictions within the USA. YOU criticized China for not stopping travel within China fast enough. But, we STILL haven't done that!!

What is OUR fault is that our response has been haphazzard, WAY late, not adequately guided by medical sciencee, and still clearly not sufficient.

So if I am walking on the sidewalk and a car goes out of control and hits me it’s my fault for not reacting quickly enough ???

It appears that Dr. Fauci was not concerned.

It’s truly amazing that many don’t place full blame on China.

Why does TRUMP allow people that could have COVID travel around the US?

Why did Trump allow people to come here from China well after we knew the problem?

    That's a preposterous analogy.

I TOLD you why blame is inappropriate.

As I pointed out, you haven't cited his statement.

Without that context, I'm not particularly believing that he even said it - though I've accepted it so far. Multiple times he's made projections for an outcome that is based on the US following specific recommendations - behavior that has not taken place.

I think we are going to be disappointed if we think we will have a peak like Italy.
Ours will be more like a long plateau because of the haphazard way we did shelter in place.

I can't see who you are talking to, but I can guess?
I think when Fauci said that (assuming he did) he didn't know the testing didn't work.
He also said that was really bad.
He also probably didn't know we were going to keep letting US citizens back in based only on a questionnaire.

Dr. Fauchi is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He was relying on the dishonest Chinese data.

Watch the video. He said the risk is very low right now but that could change. This could becomes a global pandemic. And that was true. The actual risk to any person in the US at that time was very low. And it did change just like he predicted. In no way did he say there was nothing to worry about ever. He was talking about the immediate threat to people in the US.

The headline and write up isn't representative of what he said. And we still knew very little about the lethality and transmissibility of the virus then.

And that was on 2/17. Trump stopped travel from China on 1/31. So the medical professionals were saying in mid February that there was nothing to worry about. So which is it - was Trump listening to the science or not. It's a good thing he wasn't listening when he implemented the Red Chinese travel ban. Trump is being attacked for not acting sooner but indeed he did contrary to the conclusions of the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

We did not know that Corona was much more highly contagious than the previous SARS (which the medical professionals concluded based on the incomplete Chinese data) because because the Red Chinese lied about the corona virus. China is responsible for the global pandemic and the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people world wide.

In some cases they are not only inadequate, they are SELF DEFEATING!

Declaring that religious gatherings are "essential services" just needlessly INCREASES the problem.

There is zero justification for attending a church service when it can be streamed online.

What I think would be a better model is to have one for each hotspot here in the States. Then we can track where people are sticking to the Stay at Home and where they are still going to church services.

Once we have that information we can shut down all travel into and out of those hotspots. If they cannot isolate themselves then we can isolate them from the rest of the country.

Man, its been a long time since I had that reference "The Red Chinese"! Lol!

The "Red Chinese" didn't know how contagious the the COVID-19 virus was either! They saw the first cases in early December, and there was no list of deaths and illness 10s of thousands of cases then either!

ITS A NEW VIRUS! GET IT? "Novel" means new!

The Chinese were struggling too, and just like with Trump did later, the Chinese wanted to avoid panic and work stoppage and confusion because not many problems at that time! In January, they were seeing more and more illness, but still no one knew much about the virus until more till died and the initial efforts to mitigate were not effective!

What is a sad for the deaths was Trump, even as he and his failing assistants said no problems, everything is OK, buy more stock, and even as the USA intelligence services said the COVID was going to devastate the USA, the Republicans (and Pelosi) said they sold stocks as they and Trump told all of America that there was "No Problem, Buy Buy Buy your stocks", they were Selling Selling Selling their stocks and making another munt of money!

The Chinese didn't kill anyone in America, Trump and the Republicans killed and are killing and impoverishing Americans. Non-stop!

    News from Australia...
The Ruby Princess fiasco has taken an interesting turn.
NSW Police have commenced a criminal/homicide investigation..
May be drawing a long bow but I feel negligence due to a lack of duty of
care has occurred here. Manslaughter charges and perhaps later a class action
by the relatives of the deceased persons against the NSW Government may eventuate....
