We have no federal level response team for pandemic disasters such as we do have for hurricanes, etc. That's one big problem that we can correct, but will take more time than we have for this disaster.

For this disaster, we need to create a serous national response. There is NO element of national response that is adequate today, very obviously.

 

I am astounded when some people react negatively to measures taken at the local , state and federal level to slow down the rise of infections so our medical system can handle it and not lose Americans due to being overwhelmed .

Some people are concerned our govt will make such actions an institution like those national security acts that make us look like china or at least moving in that direction .

This is understandable. Yet in ww2 it looked like the constitution was set aside . But we had better people in power and at war's end we became a republic again. With a cconstitution.
Today we cannot trust the men of oligarchy to give up powers.

With that said govt has a big role in minimizing deaths of citizens. Protecting Americans from a life taking pandemics. Just as govt protects us from being invaded by life taking agents .

If so many of us were not of low iq and irresponsible govt would not have to protect the smart people from the less intelligent and irresponsible.

Didnt sars kill people and then more or less went away instead of big outbtreaks returning like the flu? The US is a large land mass nation and our rural areas may not see the infection rates of our big urban areas where people are crammed together like factory livestock farms.

Yet this spread some say may last until July .

I just hope we are as prepared for the next novel virus better than the current one. Which means bringing back supply chains to our nation and people. Will elite greed risk national security again? By saying comparitive advantage is the god we serve and national security isnt more important than max profits for the top 1 percent ?

 

The major climate factor will be the warming days of Spring and Summer.

If the weather makes the virus susceptible to dryness and warmth, then it will end sooner than later.

The problems then are still to protect our vulnerable if hotspot outbreaks occur; to work on a good vax; and to stock up for the coming cold season.

I may not know what Trump meaning that there a light at the end of the tunnel. It's that I don't see it and there is still no end in sight in this COVID-19 yet or not this week anyway or perhaps at least the next two weeks. This may be the worst week this week. Who knows what next week will bring or next month they would be much worse that this week. Who knows and who's to say?
