Not dropping out, suspending. Guess he still thinks there's a chance Biden will ultimately blow it with all his gaffes and pompus specious declarations and now accusations of sexual assault. Sanders suspends presidential campaign, rendering Biden presumptive Democratic nominee Bernie Sanders has suspended his Democratic presidential campaign -- all but handing the nomination to former Vice President Joe Biden. According to a brief campaign statement, He announced the decision during an all-staff conference call Wednesday. He will address supporters shortly before noon during a livestream. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sanders-suspends-presidential-campaign
It is common for the front runners (Republican or Democrat) to suspend their campaigns until after the convention. Amy K and Mayor Pete have suspended their run as well. All have pledged delegates they can bargain with.
Good to see. I like Bernie. I also agree with his policies. But he is NOT going to win this year, and if he was the candidate he would (god PLEASE forbid) elect Trump I hope he runs in 2024. I will vote for him then.
Reporting is that he is telling supporters he is just suspending and if necessary will "unsuspend". Will he endorse Biden in his news conference, curious minds want to know.
I think he will say that he will 100% support the nominee of the party (though he might hold out some hope it's himself). The most important thing is who Biden gets to run with him as VP. I'm hoping for Amy K. But wouldn't it blow conservative minds if it was one of the Obamas ... technically, Barak can be President for two more years under the Constitution (two terms or ten years).
That's not an endorsement of Biden. Amy brings nothing, she went nowhere as a candidate and no Obama could not serve as President and nominating his wife would only show how weak the Dems are in qualified candidates, besides she has been quite clear she wants no part of it and neither does her husband.
The most important thing is that it will shorten the lines at the voting booths and save some lives. He won't be urging his followers to vote for him over Biden and Biden won't have to continue to do the same. Its more like a series of midterm election primaries than a series of national primaries.
Staying on the ballots to collect as many delegates as he can..............not an endorsement of Biden going forward.
He won't endorse Biden until the convention - then all the candidates will endorse the nominee. Hillary's loss is reminder of what happens when the nominee has mediocre party support. They won't do that this time - Trump is too polarizing a figure.
And he may not then along with AOC. He staying on the ballots to get more delegates to do a power play and if Biden doesn't move left enough..................and if he does................ Harris, Klobuchar, O'Rouke all I can think of have already endorsed Biden except for Warren who all but officially did so a couple of days ago.
AOC will endorse Biden if he's the nominee. Her hatred of Trump far outweighs her dislike of Biden. Trump has all but tried to get her killed.
Don't be so quick to jump, depends on how far left he moves, remember she and Sanders and other radical leftist believe they are leading a movement.
Indeed, as your avatar's name implies you should know something about Socialism and therefore, you like Bernie. Me - he scares living daylights out of me
The only thing that changed was the Wisconsin primary. Strange he would drop out now when the results won't be posted for days...
I wish he would not of done that, but I guess regardless if biden drops out, he has most delegates and would be next in line
I could see Biden picking Harris, she would not resist his sexual advances one bit, she knows that is how one gets ahead in this world. Right Kamala? Yes, she mumbles with her mouth full.
