The Michigan Capitol will be closed Thursday when protesters are expected to gather in opposition to Michigan leaders' coronavirus response. The state legislature will not hold session that day, Michigan State Police Lt. Brian Oleksyk confirmed. The building will be closed. During the coronavirus pandemic, the Capitol, normally open for tours and visitors Monday through Saturday, is closed to the public except during session or committee meetings. https://www.lansingstatejournal.com...closed-during-coronavirus-protest/5183573002/ Great to see that the Capitol will be closed today. All of those gun-toting agitators need to be denied access to the Capitol. Glad to see that they aren't in session, so that they can keep these agitators out. These demonstrations are a waste of time and they have given Michigan a black eye because of the ridiculous behavior of the Pro-Trump agitators. Maybe a couple hundred people show up in the rain to fly Confederate Flags and display swastikas? Who knows? Anyway, without access to the Capitol, they might as well just show up in the rain and scream at the sky. Thoughts?
It's always amusing when our leftist posters admit to their own issues. racism. elitism. cowardice. Thats why we see so many references that they, themselves, created. All those references to Nazis, Klan, etc are just veiled projections of their own preferences, when they felt they were in control... Using those images against others though..... that is funny.
If they are armed (and I don't know if they are) I wouldn't call it cowardly. I am all for protesting. I believe in their right to assemble and protest the government's decision. But I don't see the appropriateness of an armed protest.
Today's "Protest" fizzled out into a poorly attended comedy skit: https://www.freep.com/story/news/lo...-capitol-protest-gretchen-whitmer/5188313002/
Democrats are the party of draconian lockdowns. Democrats want similar lockdowns for the climate emergency they want to declare America is getting a sneak peak of the "new normal" Democrats want to manage America's decline into
Is it strange that a bunch of gun wielding protesters called police in alarm when they saw one of their own carrying an ax?
I don’t know why they are. But the fact that they feel the need to go to a protest with weapons proves they are.
How many people have been shot so far compared to say Baltimore? How many of the guns were even loaded?
Not much of a comedy skit online... Assassinating Whitmer is a common theme among members of the groups. Dozens of people have called for her to be hanged. “We need a good old fashioned lynch mob to storm the Capitol, drag her tyrannical ass out onto the street and string her up as our forefathers would have,” John Campbell Sr. wrote in a group called “People of Michigan vs. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer,” which had nearly 9,000 members as of Monday morning. Steve Doxsie had the same idea: “Drag that tyrant governor out to the front lawn. Fit her for a noose.” “Either President Trump sends in the troops or there is going to be a midnight lynching in Lansing soon,” Michael Smith chimed in. Others suggested she be shot, beaten, or beheaded. “Plain and simple she needs to eat lead and send a statement to the rest of the democrats that they are next,” James Greena, of Fennville, wrote. Russel Christopher Rozman said, “She needs her ass beat. Most of these politicians need a good ass whooping. Just. Punch there lights out.” When someone suggested the guillotine, Thomas Michael Lamphere responded, “Good ol’ fashioned bullets work better, but I like the enthusiasm.” “Wonder how long till she’s hit with a shotgun blast,” Chris Parrish wrote. Matthew Woodruff had another idea: “Can we please just take up a collection for an assassin to put that woman from Michigan down,” he asked. https://m.metrotimes.com/news-hits/...Za39bB40WPBoQIJ4HDVo9dRGZNkMnOai-H7Wn5NmKSjBE
Can Michigan handle a economic depression, a pandemic, flooding from climate change, a massive toxic waste spill, and a nuclear meltdown all at the same time? Michigan should have paid attention to its many deteriorated dams which the state has known about for years, but put off repairs. No, some Michigan citizens and visitors from other states were infecting the rural areas with Covid-19 which had been relatively isolated from the virus. Now covid-19 infections are exploding all over Michigan. Some Michigan citizens wanted to shut down the state government during the pandemic because government is expensive, and enforces unnecessary environmental laws. And besides, I don't live near a water dam so who cares? Global warming and climate change from fossil fuels are a hoax, just as the pandemic is a hoax. Wait, isn't the Detroit Edison (DTE) currently leaking Fermi 2 reactor --the same type as the three Fukushima Daiichi reactors that melted down in 2011-- located in Monroe, Michigan? Dow admits floodwaters in Michigan are ‘commingling’ with toxic chemical storage ponds
That would've been a problem, if it happened. According to your link: "“Somebody was calling for help between one protester and another,” State Police Lt. Brian Oleksyk said. “Somebody grabbed a sign out of his hand here. Michigan State Police, via Twitter, said one of the men in the altercation had an ax that was turned over to police." " They didn't call police because of the axe, they called police because of the altercation where someone grabbed a sign from someone else. The article also doesn't specify who called the police or whom had an axe. There were Whitmer supporters/counterprotesters present as well who could've called: "Otherwise, the rally was peaceful — almost jubilant. Armed men conversed among themselves or gathered alongside the front of the statehouse or under cover at the top of the steps. Others discussed how they were coping with the fallout from the pandemic. Some children ran and played. A woman with "I STAND WITH WHITMER" written on one of her forearms stood at the base of the Capitol steps wearing what appeared to be a gun holstered on her hip. She stood next to a masked man with two signs affixed to a pole that said, "WHITMER KEEPING OUR MOST VULNERABLE SAFE" and "I STAND IN SILENCE FOR THEM." They were two of the few counter-protesters, including a man who pointed a toy gun at a protester while wearing a T-shirt proclaiming himself a member of Michigan's Nerf Militia."
Best Irony -- here is a video from 2017 where she says the lawmakers inside are scared of the people outside - her people! Now she's on the other side and does the same thing, and the sheeple love her! Go to 18 seconds and listen -- it's great if you like listening to hypocrites.
The governor wont be happy until Michigan is crippled financially to the point of needing a federal bailout.
It turns out that Edenville Michigan dam that failed on Tuesday had its license revoked in 2018 by federal regulators.
