So what do you think they should do instead? Nothing they've done in the past has made any improvement to their situation.
What would you suggest they do instead? What would you say to them that would give them hope that things will change for the better?
How would you convince them that their lives matter just as much as yours does?

You were responding to the OP and Your post seemed to justify the rioters actions. So if I'm wrong and you weren't justifying the actions of the rioters then correct me. Otherwise if you justify them burning someone else's house or business, then you can be ok with your house burning too.

When the premise is that black lives dont matter to cops, then there is no hope for change because that is a false premise.

If I had the answer, I surely would not be asking you the question.
But I can't condemn what they are doing in response to never ending injustice.
What are they supposed to do that will make it stop?

Premise or not...your answer really doesn't offer any hope that things will change no matter what they do.
So what should they do instead of rioting that will make any difference?

Well I know what WONT work, burning down your own neighborhood and stealing property. Maybe they get together with the media and demand a sitdown with the mayor and chief and ask what they plan to do to prevent a repeat? That would be one logical thing to do.

Engage with the police leaders, city council, senators, media, talk shows....acknowledge that the problem is for all citizens not just blacks. The support would be wider....you'd have my husband on board. He'd be passing petitions, emailing officials and passionate to help.

But rioting doesnt attract support or respect from those who otherwise might be supporters.

Good suggestions...all those things have been done many times over the years.
    But has anything changed?
Tell me why you think doing those same things again is going to make any difference this time around?

Like you said...rioting isn't gonna change anything,,,just mess up the neighborhood.
But what is their alternative? "Eye for an eye" maybe?
Years of anger over injustice eventually accumulates into rage for any man...yourself included.
Isn't it better to punch a few walls then to actually take another life out of revenge?

Businesses are going to have a hard enough time reopening, if they ever do, after this COVID-19 shutdown and these idiots burn down the ones that are open. Course maybe they didn't have a job before and could care less.

If you own the wall. Becoming a criminal to protest criminal offenses is just plain out stupid. It's as though you feel they are justified, do you? And if so, what will rioting accomplish? It has never done anything.

Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

:) You are so desperately trying to put words in my mouth. I posted the following which you quoted and NO WHERE did it show support for rioting....

If you live in a society where the chances are you'll be treated like a criminal anyway...and possibly murdered,
it really doesn't seem all that stupid. Might as well go down fighting....no?

Okay, I got this. The reason that they deserve respect for this is because they are very, very good at it. They exhibit a high trade craft level and dedication so far as a work ethic is concerned. How's that?

Millions of blacks (and all other people) were not assaulted today and wont be tomorrow. That "logic" is silly but hey, go give it a try!

Wrongful deaths happen during law enforcement events. Whites die, Hispanics die, Blacks die. Mostly only Blacks thereafter riot and burn down their own neighborhoods and, ironically, they do this AS the justice system is already in motion to deal with the problem. Remember how Barack Obama endlessly race agitated and essentially encouraged Blacks to tear things up? Didn't help one bit. The funny part of it though was that almost without exception all his race agitating ended up being for nothing since the justice system under his OWN administration, mind you, usually found that the officers involved did not, in fact, screw up. All that rioting and looting and arson for nothing.

No those things have not been tried. The activists have been racially pure on this....promoting this as a problem for blacks. Pitting whites against blacks. Very divisive.

And the media foments it by focusing on black injustice almost exclusively. They virtually ignore police brutality against other races. For those susceptible to it, it would appear only blacks are targeted. The police are equal opportunity. They will beat or kill your white ass too!

I would suggest NOT rioting. Stealing and destroying other people’s property is not the correct response to anything.

Face it. Most of the looting and destruction is not done by people interested in justice. They are just taking advantage of the situation.

Exactly. They do the same thing after natural disasters.

on Oklahoma we had a man shot and killed while fishing with his brother. He was white, a Restaurant owner, a minister and the body cam video and details were sketchy. Its assumed that the police didnt announce who they were at the dead of night and the guy who was shot simply thought these guys were causing trouble. Was just a speck on the local news.
