Rep. Nino Vitale has a lot of faith! But wait. If Vitale believes that God will protect him from the corona virus, then why are his followers carrying AR-15 assault rifles for protection against.... unarmed nurses, liberals, and minorities? The contradiction reveals this movement isn't religious at all; but, is rather what political scientists call a Neo-Fascist movement that only uses the symbols of religion to establish it's antithesis.

Journalist Jeffrey St. Clair has reported that since late March, more than 1,000 counties carried by Trump have now become high-coronavirus, according to new data from demographer William Frey. High Covid means the counties have reported 100 or more cases per 100,000 residents.

By contrast, only 102 counties carried by Hillary Clinton have become high-covid in that same period. In the last three weeks, some 80 Trump counties in “swing states* have become high-COVID.

Also, St. Clair reports that the Imperial College in London estimates 90% of deaths could’ve been prevented if the US had shut down by March 2.

• Unemployment claims have now reached 33 million. But more than half of those applying for unemployment benefits in recent weeks were unsuccessful…

Did the 1918 Pandemic Trigger a Second Worldwide Pandemic of Fascism?​

Of all the history books I have read on World War II, none of those histories mentioned the role of the (1918-1919) flu pandemic played in the historical events between WWI and II.

The Spanish Flu--named after the neutral country of Spain that was allowed to report on the pandemic--killed 675,000 Americans with many more dying years later from the after effects of their illness. World War I (1914-1918 ) ended the same year the Spanish Flu killed 50 to 100 million people worldwide. One could argue that the Spanish Flu ended WWI and triggered a second pandemic of fascism.

The Fascist Political Strategy of Parallelism​

The German Nazis took power in Germany in 1933, or 10 years after Hitler was arrested for attempting a coup in Munich in 1923. Hitler understood that he could never rule over Germany by a coup, but instead followed his Nazi advisers to use money from German industrialists to construct a parallel Nazi government to the German Wiemar Republic, and just laterally step over into power when the opportunity arises. This strategy was named, “Parallelism.” Robert O. Paxton of Columbia University wrote:

However, we can see this same pattern of parallelism in America with political think tanks like the John Olin Foundation, a chemical and munitions company, promoting a White supremacist Eugenics ideology and gives about $50 million dollars a year to various right wing Think Tanks and, political parties, LAW SCHOOLS, universities, right wing magazines, radio and TV stations, social research organizations, scholarships, Journalism schools, religious organizations, and special seminars. Olin had given out about $20 billion dollars during it existence and this is only ONE right wing foundation!

Seems to illustrate (no doubt a testament to Adorno's penchant for disclosing some cyclical element in the eternal fascistic) a current moment in our contemporary zeitgeist: the persecution fantasies of the facilitators of barbarism.

I spent last night writing a short essay on self-deception. Just a moment ago I found a video lecture on self-deception by Dr. John Vervaeke. And now your profound quote, which I never read until now, is about...an epidemic of folly.

Well to date myself, my first exposure to the idea of synchronicity came from the Police album (!). I admit that my understanding of it as an intellectual phenomenon is limited to its popular usage and its formulation in Jungian terms. Which is to say, that I have not explored the idea in a serious academic manner. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

 

I did write on synchronicity here at Appendix B4 and also never gave the concept any serious attention. I should have known there would be a name for it. It seems I have been plagued by synchronicity during this writing project. I believe it from the mind demanding coherence and completeness in experience like a coincidence, but they are likely paradigm generated. It is like Leibniz when he made his own telescope spending hundreds of hours polishing a large glass lens. When he finally built the telescope and look at the stars he said they looked like....a glass lens. LOL. I imagine everything looked like a lens.

But about the essays. When a paradigm is internalized, it writes itself.

Indeed. Certainly this is a moment in which the facade of democracy is pierced. For many, material deprivation and dehumanization have been a way of life. Victims of an all pervasive ideology that deifies subjugation, submission, and brutality as manifestations of freedom. From spreadsheets to stealth bombers and batons, people are rendered invisible and Other simultaneously. There were rumors that the book Trump held up after para-military mercenaries beat American citizens out of Lafayette Park was the Christian Bible, but biblical scholars have determined that the book is not the Christian bible, but a fragmented ancient pagan text titled, "To Serve Man." Scholars have been unable to translate the mysterious book so far. ​

 

I laughed out loud at this. Literally. Eventually we will all be consumed. (One of my favorite episodes).

Additionally, it is astonishing how well Orwell predicted this picture of fascism: "A boot stamping on a human face - forever."
