My wife called the Richmond (VA) Police Department to let them know that even though the mayor and the governor don't have their backs the silent majority of citizens do.

They said they appreciate the expressions of support and encourage people to voice it in their local media.

I've taken a different tack by publicly ripping the mayor and the governor for their failure to let those men and women do their jobs and keep the peace. It's no coincidence that this is the second time in three years that a Democratic mayor and a Democratic governor allowed violence to occur in our streets, even when they had adequate warning and resources to prevent it. The citizens of our fair Commonwealth have become tools, pawns and cannon fodder for ambitious Democrats who are exploiting violence for their own personal and political gain. In 2017 their negligence contributed to the murder of a young woman and this year it almost got a bunch of people, including children, killed when rioters set fire to an apartment building on Broad Street. If the cops hadn't fought through the mob to save the occupants and clear the area for firefighters there's no telling how many people would have gotten killed.

It's outrageous. The people of Virginia (and elsewhere) need to wake up.
