Your response would maybe make sense if it weren't for the fact that I'm the one arguing for restraint against attacking "civilians" here. Also worth noting: police ARE civilians as well.

 

They are civilians, civilians authorized to be a neutral policing force. I'm saying that if we get rid of that neutral policing force, we will see 1920's Germany in real time. It wasn't a really good time to be alive, just saying.

Cops who can't handle a non-violent protestor without putting him in a hospital need to be dismissed from the force.

It all starts with training.
Police instructors who have large numbers of their students go out and kill suspects in custody(or who have lots of disciplinary incidents) need to be dismissed from their jobs and replaced with instructors that teach respect for the law and instruct their students that they have a responsibility to uphold the law even when another cop breaks it.

 

Do you feel elected officials should be held to the same standards? If so then Gov Cuomo should face about 5,000 counts of negligent homicide for his executive order requiring COVID19 positive patients back to nursing homes. Mayor de Blasio should face thousands of counts of accessory to theft and criminal damage for his inactions pertaining to the looting and arson of NYC.

 

I'm perfectly fine with holding all public officials accountable for their actions.

Well, then we would have to get rid of Congressional Immunity, Governmental Immunity, Sovereign Immunity and Diplomatic Immunity.

He is responsible for defending US borders. That’s a federal not state responsibility. He’s also so stupid he doesn’t know that the earth is round(e.g. banning flights from China, but not Europe).

I think in the ultra Liberal cities like LA and NY, the cops should be greatly scaled back. That way, those cities can become more like Baltimore and Chicago where it takes up to an hour to arrive whenever there is a major crime or shooting. That way both cops and residents can feel safer with themselves.

 

What are "my kind of police"? You know, in my kind of police force we have now, there are an awful lot of officers of color. Are you going to put them in jail? Actually, they do a fine job. Maybe you will dissolve the S.W.A.T. teams and get a bunch of English Bobbies to deal with South American Gangs. You are incredible!
