And yet...a person died because before he could be transported people linked arms to prevent police from entering. That is in the article. You can deny it all that you want. But that is a fact. And a factor. Denying it is what is gibberish.

And @pjohns they are no longer "citizens" according to their OWN declarations.

We've got several places like that right here in Sweden. They sprang up over-night when the uh ... um ..... "new arrivals" started to make their presence felt. We call them "no-go zones" although MS politicians deny they exist. Funny that there are no Swedes pelting ambulances, firefighters, and yes even law enforcement with rock and pyrotechnic firecrackers & rockets. We haven't learned how to do that yet.

Hmmm... you say "no Swedes" attack your emergency services ... but how about the ... errr... "New Swedes"?

Not surer if Democrats "gave" America WWII, Pearl Harbor did that. But I am fine with fighting Fascism
and Communism, not with slavery and segregation.

He-he! Yes, I call them uh ... um ..... "new arrivals" in my above post. But if you mean their offspring then you have a point because they are discouraged by their families to integrate.

Agreed. My unclear point was that Republicans have a reputation of being hard and hawkish. But Democrats have gotten us into all the wars, right or wrong.

And Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, JFK, the Apollo missions, the Peace Corps, victory in WWII, the end of the Great Depression, the only budget surpluses in the last 50 years -- just to name a few...

Why did CHAZ allow gun violence in their autonomous zone again? And someone died because of the reaction to the violence that was allowed to happen within CHAZ, no? And who is the government there? Perhaps it is time to end the temper tantrum before more folks die.

I don’t think soymalia (Chaz) is going to be barricaded much longer.
But I don’t think Seattle is going to get better anytime soon.

It’s an hour long video but it’s a good watch.

I understand all that (I am Aussie) I just wish to point out the Democrat's hypocrisy
    on race issues.
As an aside, having lived through the 1960's - it was more Johnston that took America
to the moon. Kennedy had misgivings and wanted to do a joint venture with Russia.
And it was Kennedy, in a room full of advisors, who was the only cool head during the
Cuban Missile Crisis. I sometimes ask people to tell me what they think of when they
think of JFK, usually it's his womanizing - I ask them, "How about him saving your life?"

It is sad. "homeless problem" or "gun violence" are feel-good terms used by leftists who refuse to address, or are too ignorant to realize the problems are not lack of housing or legal gun owners. Where-ever leftist policies are left to fester long enough, trouble follows.

Often wonder if Japan had struck Singapore, Malaysia, India etc and left America
and its bases at Hawaii and Phillipines alone - would it have been possible for
Roosevelt to declare war? Would have been smart for the Japanese to do just
that - and if necessary, fight the carriers later in Western Pacific. The US would
not be so stirred up, and be left feeling they were fighting someone else's war.

As an Aussie, you do understand that the Democratic and Republican parties of 1860 are not remotely the same as the parties of 1960 or 2020?

The Zombie Zone is a separate country and what happens behind their wall is their business.

Don’t Listen to Fox. Here’s What’s Really Going On in Seattle’s Protest Zone.

You should take note of the fact that that was written before this weekend's fatal shooting.
Welp, they have those reports now, don't they?

Maybe you should have listened to Fox. A black life might've been alive today to matter if you had.

    They tried to warn you.

A good point about Democrats and wars.

Another point: Woodrow Wilson put Eugene Debs (saint-like Socialist Party leader) in prison for 10 yrs, for opposing US entry into WWI - when the war was over, most countries released their concientious objectors, protestors, etc.. but Wilson refused to release Debs. However, when Republican Warren Harding took office, he pardoned Debs, and even invited him to the White House for a chat.

The House UnAmerican Activities Committee -- of McCarthyite fame -- was actually founded or co--founded in the 1930s, by Congressman Dickstein (a leftwing Democrat) .. to hunt Nazis... Dickstein was actually on the NKVD ( forerunner of KGB) payroll.

The most draconian legislation against leftists ever authored, the Communist Control Act of 1953 -- so blatantly unConstitutional that it has never been enforeced -- was authored by the Bernie Sanders of his time, Hubert Humphrey, Senator from Minnesota.

I hate to see rightwingers posting these blatant lies.

The Liberated Territory of Seattle is a model of beautiful harmony. Everyone is sharing everything with each other in peace and love.

There is no violence ... women sunbathe naked there, and no one harrasses them

Children are being educated without coercive methods. Amazing progress is being made, using non-competititve, co operative, sharing methods.
Already nine-year olds are arguing about quantum theory.

    It is a beautiful thing.

And at least we can all agree with this: the 'Occupation Zone' shows what all of America will be like, when the Left triumphs.

The vote on the Civil Rights Act is interesting: putting Senators and Congressmen together, the ratio of against, to for, for Democrats was about 1:2 -- one Democrat against, for every two for. For Republicans, it was about 1:4 ... One Republican against, for every four for.

But the other points are valid ... if you think Social Security and Medicaid are bad things then you won't be impressed. But if you think they are good things, you will.

As for "victory in WWII" ... yes, the Republicans were isolationist. FDR realized we had to get into that war, and did everything he could to get us into it, and he finally succeeded, thank God.

Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have had a very good record on civil liberties. Check out the Communist Control Act of 1953 -- the most draconian legislation ever passed at a national level, authored by ultra-liberal Hubert Humphrey.

Now, of course, the assault on civil liberties is outside the legislative chambers, and is coming from the Left -- with liberals in full retreat. Too bad.

If Republicans want to survive -- if they want America to survive, even as two separated nations -- they will understand that their base is not at all against the mild welfare state measures that we have, and will start some serious thinking about how we can use the power of the state -- including 'redistributive' taxation -- to preserve the working class of America and prevent its following the lumpen-proletariat of the inner cities into depravity and degradation.

Trump made some vague hints in this direction, but has not followed through. Where are those infra-structure projects? We need to not only rebuild our roads and dams and bridges, but to construct a massive array of 'social defense' shelters, against the spillover of possible future nuclear wars.

Conservatives reading this are urged to get a copy of Francis Buckley's The Republican Workers Party ... just a few bucks on Amazon.

If the national guard and the police are powerless, then Trump may ask Putin to send Russian special forces to Seattle to restore order.
