Funny how a gated community cannot produce any surveillance video of these two actually being threatened.

Interesting take. For the record, the BLM protests in the past few weeks have inflicted more deaths than the KKK inflicted in the past fifty years. A BLM leader threatened to burn the entire system to ground on CNN. This is a terrorist threat. It baffles me that he hasn't been arrested and had federal charges slapped on him. Even more baffling is the MSM supporting such statements.

Regarding charges, when you admit apriori that the defendants were afraid, you have already lost the case. You are making the defendant's case for them. When combined with BLM's nationally televised threats and the dozens of viral videos of rioters beating/robbing innocent civilians, it is entirely justified for rich white people to feel threatened by a group of BLM protesters busting down their gate and storming their property.

I understand why they may be prosecuted for it. It is a political power move to signal to other gun owners that they better not use their guns to protect their life and their property. It won't work. People's fear of being beaten and murdered in the current moment will far exceed their fear of being prosecuted in the future.

I also understand why the mob who violently broke down a fence and trespassed on private property are not being prosecuted for their crime. The people in power are using the mob to further their own objectives. They apparently support the rule of law being discarded. Pretty scary stuff when you consider that the rule of law is a cornerstone of Western civilization.

Kudos to Trump for filing FEDERAL charges against anarchists who are pulling down statues. I wish he would arrest all BLM leaders who made terrorist threats.... unfortunately he is all alone and Republican cowards are not backing a crackdown.

Strange, why isn't the liberal state attorney investigating that as well?

I have no clue where you got that stat from, and I already know why it’s wrong. Now, let’s think about this simply. Protesters weren’t violent here. They were simply trespassing on sacred space. Nothing wrong there. Yet here people are, thinking they have to threaten peaceful protesters. Of all behaviors, why did they take this one when other people haven’t?

    The KKK killed 5 in 1979 and 1 in 1981 for a total of 6. 6 in 50 years
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan

BLM protests were responsible for 25 in a few weeks:
    upload_2020-6-30_5-52-38.png

Gee this group that is responsible for 25 deaths, many more beatings, burned out blocks and have publicly threatened to bring the violence to the suburbs has busted down my front gate and are surrounding my house...... I wonder if they mean me harm?

How would you feel if 400 hooded KKK members had gathered outside your house? Would you feel threatened?

Don't care either way if the state's attorney isn't allegedly investigating nor if he is. The key is did they break the law? That question does not have a political nor a partisan answer.

Pretty sure breaking down a gate is illegal.

I thought we where talking about holding a weapon which is a right we have under the 2nd. The destruction of the gate by the protesters would be covered by local laws not the state laws at that is the way it is in most places. If they destroyed a gate on state property then sure the state's attorney is responsible to nail their asses.

The problem is the wife's conduct. She points that gun at many different persons. Their official statement however was that there were only "2 bad actors" in the crowd. That means she should've only pointed at those two with the gun. She obviously points at far more than that. She's got issues if the state wants to make a case out of it.

Anytime a journalist uses words like 'disturbing' to describe a video, I consider the article trash. Don't put your own emotions in your writing.

BTW, the dummies who broke into private property are lucky to be alive today. How stupid.

I agree the woman should not have pointed the gun, not sure if that is a crime in that state, they are claiming they were threatened.

That's what I was thinking. Also they are both hard core liberals who previously supported BLM protestors AND rioters . . . until those factions broke into THEIR gated community and threatened THEIR lives and property. All of a sudden the pair of personally endangered liberals just aren't quite so ardently liberal any more. Sometimes all it takes is a hard slap in the face from . . . reality.

Claiming they were threatened by, and I quote their statement directly "2 bad actors". That means they could point at the 2 bad actors, not at everyone.
Being armed isn't the problem, pointing the gun is.
People keep saying "its their private property". The house and yard are, yes. The street is not. Its not a public street, its a private street, yes. But that means its owned by the HOA, not the homeowners in the neighborhood. In MO, you have to have written owner permission to exercise a defense of property claim on their behalf. As an attorney with experience in real estate, I have never known an HOA to willingly take on additional liability. Therefore I find it extremely unlikely these 2 have a letter from the HOA telling them to keep out the riff raff. They need an attack on themselves personally, or their own yard, to justify use of force (threat of deadly force being a use of force) not one on the HOA. They can use the charged climate to justify fear more easily, but they still need to pass a reasonableness analysis and its not reasonable to randomly gesticulate wildly at all and sundry with a loaded firearm.

One wonders why Kimberly isn't pursuing trespassing charges against her free wheeling protesters who ignored private property to advance their protest.... And frankly, why isn't she pursuing the use of force against the homeowners by the crowd?

they were up to no good and using intimidation tactics, biden and obama were using them as martyrs for politics.

if the lawyer opened fire he would have been released for defending his property, and no one would care about the massacre.

Hmm... I don't see them being on the street, do you? So why advance an argument that has literally no merit here? The folks protesting were trespassing. That also implies that had the mob who were protesting using the HOA common access grounds actually caused damage or harm to said private residence, the HOA would also be negligent, and liable for their inaction to keep either the peace, or the privacy of members of their association. I't say the HOA is F'ed here. I would also remind you that MO is a castle doctrine state. Pointing a gun is within the law if it meets the criteria of feeling threatened, which clearly, they felt they were. There is also evidence asserted that the protesters were not limited to the street and had encroached on the residential property. Reasonable by definition at that point.

But who cares? these liberal democrats just demonstrated to the world that they aren't willing to practice what they preach. And it's an excellent time to re point that out.

So they shot at the protestors?

If not your kind of justice sucks. And dangerous , far more dangerous than people protecting their property. And themselves.

Modern leftism has to be a mental affliction. Like you see in infamous people like Stalin and Hitler. Charge them with attempted murder is just crazy thinking.

Fiction. As noted, only the HOA could agree or provide that. The other residents would have cause against the compliant resident should that even be the case, which so far there is zero evidence of to even suggest it.

Nothing wrong with trespassing? Conveying a threat of violence against the home owners? Nothing wrong with that you say? Did it occur to you that these folks are democrats yet? Both ambulance chasers?
