How do you know this? Land also changes as climate changes. And balance? The balance is what is trying to be achieved. Climate change is a lack of balance that's why it is so unpredictable. I am pretty sure man is smart enough to feed himself and make himself comfortable for a long while. What will be missed however may be irreplaceable. Like everyday products of nature. If the climate changes much where you live you will lose your natural surroundings. Then what will replace the natural fauna with? Most likely rats and vermin because there was NO transfer of wildlife and plants so you end up with rats and weeds.

Oh, this is a great post! Congratulations. I was just responding to the comment referring to the church of climate change. If one side makes up a church for me I can make up a church for them... tit for tat.

As I said: only right wing science denialists say that.

Taking a few words out of context to promote anti-science is what we always expect from right-wingers.

What else can they do when they have no real arguments?

OK but I left the church of self serving ignorance long ago and became a conservative. Well, that's my political bent but my faith is Frisbeetarianism, we believe that when we die our soul goes up on the garage roof and we can't get it down. Hey I like this making up church stuff, beats the hell out of making up stuff about CLIMATE CHANGE!!!! (when you read this use some reverb and your serious sounding inner voice.) Seriously, we need to focus on things we can actually change rather than endless debate about stuff that can't and won't be resolved in our lifetime.

There isn't any context here. I quoted the entire response. There was no additional context. And the video, I posted as well, provides to place for her to hide should she, as she now contends was "sarcasm", it sure wasn't apparent at the time. It's laughable. She said a very stupid thing. You are defending what she said as both not being true, but also not being accurately quoting which I have. Twice. So, answer your own question. Why are you flailing here? You have nothing else....

Let me explain this to the older generation of right wingers.

Here is the explanation of millennial lingo from a "young" 62 year old (me!). Or at least one who pays attention.

It's a colloquial conversation. When millennials say "it's like... this and that" the word "like" is very often (as in this case) used to indicate that what follows is a metaphor.

Older generations don't use the term "like" this way. But you can tell by the context alone. For example, if Trump says "stop the testing", the first impulse is to assume it's some way to underline a thought in a colloquial way. Like a metaphor. But when he is asked later and doubles down on the claim, you know that's not the case. When AOC is asked about it later, she indicates that it's just an expression.

So that should it clear up.

Actually I'll save you a lot of braincells here, the use of the word "like" is a verbal tick that doesn't indicate anything other than it's a placeholder waiting for the next disconnected thought to get attached... You know... like.... fill in the blank. The assertion is hilarious though. Thanks for the attempted splainin... very funny.

The world has gotten "hotter" since the coldest 500-year period in the last 10,000 years ended less than 200 years ago, but that's about it. We have simply returned, naturally, to more normal Holocene temperature ranges; human CO2 emissions had very little to do with it; and it is almost certainly a good thing.

But she did. She said "The world is going to end in 12 years" She followed that up with a statement about whoever she was talking about "and you are worrying about the cost" or something to that effect.

No matter how you try to twist it, that is what she said. You having a problem with being rational?

I trust thermometers. I trust the people reporting the readings on the thermometers. The much, much smaller number of people doing the "adjustment" and "smoothing" and "weighting" and "reconciliation" and "correction" of those readings? Not so much.

She's a neo-Marxist Super Star. I expect she becomes a New York political elite shyster for life now. 40 years from now, if the world doesn't explode, she's likely to be in Nutty Nancy's shoes.

NY primaries were held a week ago. No way AOC gets unseated by a white Republican.

Um, yeah, it has: on June 5, 1898, it hit 109.8F in Siberia. That would be several degrees hotter than 100, and it happened more than 120 years ago.

This response doesn't make any sense. I said it has been getting hotter for 25000 years.

That's the opposite of saying it's not getting hotter.

Not to me. There's a reason the tropics are crowded with people while high latitudes are empty. There's a reason people usually think of going someplace warm on their vacations. There's a reason agriculture is more productive in warmer climates. There's a reason farmers have greenhouses that are warmer than the air outside. There's a reason periods of warm climate were called, "optimums" before that word was ruled politically incorrect. But some people don't respond to reason.

Environmental "ALARMISM" isn't a good thing. Alarmism of ANY kind isn't a good thing

But noting that the things that have been happening now ARE happening isn't Alarmism, it's simple common sense.

This guy and John Stossel have been comparing notes, and tax returns I'll bet.
