Human heat emissions are insignificant compared to heat from the sun, and so have no effect on temperature in the hottest part of the day. But human heat emissions are much more significant compared to the tiny heat the earth receives from the moon and stars at night, so they have a more significant effect on temperature then.
Where I live, the winters of 2017, 18 and 19 were the coldest ever recorded. The news I saw the last few winters was about record cold, and snow falling where it has never fallen in living memory. So I do not believe your claim that winters are becoming particularly warm.

What exactly do you think has been happening now?

I guess that must be why agriculture is most productive in the tropics, and non-existent at high latitudes...

The Earth is getting warmer and that is somewhat due to the amount of fossil fuels we use

If I were to take the highlighted words quoted above, and claimed that you said "She is being rational", you would flip, right? Even though, strictly speaking, you did write those words.

    Context is everything!

But this is a prime example of how it's the anti-science crowd take words out of context. But in the end, as I said before, the only ones who identify AGW with "the end of the world" are the science denialists. Nobody else.

I don't know about "she". I only know you are not being rational.

There is little point and going back to get the exact quote. However, there is not doubt she said the world was going to end in twelve years.

It makes no difference how you twist and turn, that is what she said.

How'd he do selling carbon offset shares? That did make him money, though only Ruth Bader Ginsburg remembers the 1850s, and she hasn't made sense since the 1930s.

Right: the science denialists who deny that the natural processes that caused all previous scientifically identified century-scale Holocene warming episodes could still be operative.

Doc, I live in the Great Lakes area where both the U.S. and Canada now have nuclear power plants including the Fermi II near-disaster facility. Disposal of existing radioactive waste would multiply exponentially with each new power plant, so until clean fusion does come along, existing plutonium rods and other radioactive materiel need storage.

This radioactivity threatens the largest body of fresh water on this planet.

Which gets us to the curious refusal to open Yucca Mountain. But that's a different rant. Leftists want coal mines closed along with the waste receiver needed to make their pollution-free dream come true.

Garbage. I remember clearly that in the 1970s, there was broad scientific consensus that the earth had cooled since the 1940s. Now that cooling has been removed by retroactive alteration of temperature data.

So, the earth has warmed since the end of the coldest 500-year period in the last 10,000 years. Shocker!

Rompin' Ronnie Reagan won a debate with that tactic. Only plagiarize from the best.

I try not to hurt too many kids' feelings just reminding them their elders are here and...intolerant...of their enlightened and experienced viewpoint. I do wish I could see my 60s again. Beating up boneheads was a lot more fun on-line during the Obamatrauma and not so much under Trump because there's so little to complain about.

Remember how Durwood Kirby would look at Garry Moore after a line like that? Thought ya might.

Golly, you mean back when that first sad warming-scam bounced, rolled and ignited? I seem to recall that, yes. Stock up on dinosaur guns. They'll try saying anything to scare up votes.

You're a better Gunga Din than I am. I fall for that stuff all the time.

Another leftist denying science he doesn't like. But thanks for the tacit admission that climate alarmism is all about control, rather than saving us all from climate apocolypse

    This may be a pattern.
Like I am SO gonna listen to somebody who was in diapers when I was off the coast of Vietnam. Next, he'll try telling us what real men are. I can hear that playbook page turning as he finds a new old meme.

You have found that doing that is much much more difficult than just... saying it.

Shellenberger was interviewed on Glenn Beck this morning. One of the interesting thoughts was that the real strategy of halting the use of fossil fuels is to prevent the 3rd world countries from industrializing and creating wealth.

Correction. Getting you to admit it is much more difficult than proving it with a direct quote. Not being rational seems to hinder your thinking.

“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?"

Shellenberger's book "Apocolypse Never" is on Pre-Order at Amazon. It's #5 on the best sellers' list already.
