While the world is still battling the new coronavirus, an ancient disease has reared its head in China. On July 5, a herdsman in Inner Mongolia (a part of China) was diagnosed with bubonic plague and is receiving treatment at a hospital, Bayannur city health officials confirmed. Yes, that’s the same disease as the "black death," which caused the most fatal pandemic recorded in human history, wiping out 30-50% of Europe’s population in the 14th century. Seriously, COVID, then another bout of Swine flu and now the Black Death? Instead of locking down the world, maybe the world should lock down China!
actually there are multiple cases of bubonic and swine flu in US every years. china made the mistake of downplay covid back in dec, now basically anyone sneeze there, they will exaggerate it and make sure its not something serious. its same with media. its 1 case here is map of bubonic plague in US recent year https://www.cdc.gov/plague/maps/index.html
California ground squirrels carry the plague. But I guess Biden needs another excuse not to come out of his basement and debate Trump man to man.
Bubonic plague isn't this unknown disease. Every year you have cases of it popping up. On average its like 20 cases a year in the US. You have more cases of it outside the US in place that don't have clean sanitation, "good" medical care or access to medical care etc etc etc. And we also know that it's a transmission victor. So really I wouldn't worry to much about it.
