I never said that US mortality rate is incompetence.

I said Trump's utter failure to limit the destruction of this virus on American lives and the economy was sheer ****ing incompetence. That necessarily includes the deaths (~130,000), the cases (~3 million), the failure to flatten the curve, the slow ramp up of testing, the downplaying the threat of the virus, the lying about the virus, the touting the benefits of the virus, the 11.1% unemployment rate, the claim that this virus would disappear, the unwillingness to wear a mask, the verbal assault on those wearing a mask, the demand that supporters appear en masse in a closed space to cheer him on during the pandemic, the fact that he repeatedly attacked governors and any other healthcare professional that he viewed as insufficiently appreciative, the fact that he suggested injecting *******n disinfectant as a potential treatment, AND the mortality rate which is currently around 7.5-8.25% and thus markedly worse than countries like Germany, Switzerland, China, and Iran.

But do please feel free to try and make another stab at touting trump's successful handling of the pandemic if you'd like to see another one of your arguments destroyed.

P.S. For anyone actually curious as to why my mortality calculation is markedly different from one in the chart from the Fox News, understand that I am using Deaths / Total Resolved (i.e. deaths + recoveries). The number reported by the New York Times compares Deaths against total cases, but this method presumes that everyone who is currently sick with the virus (and that number is over one million in the US alone) will recover eventually.

If you or Trump truly care about people shot and killed during that time period, then you need to be willing to join the Democrats that have repeatedly called on Trump to take more actions against Gun Violence instead of whimpering in silence because his sole political strategy is to appeal to the base of supporters that already support him - and those folks, by and large, do not take kindly to any type of restrictions on firearms.

Also, it is the height of absurdity to claim that Trump - who did not reference or tag any media organization in that tweet and specifically demanded Bubba Wallace do something - was not actually targeting Bubba Wallace and was instead targeting the media.

He makes the claim because the President of NASCAR makes the claim and is launching an investigation. And this guy had a top 10 finish while your Trump 2020 driver wrecked in the pitt crew after 15 laps.

And that, my best guess, is the reason why Trump demanded an apology one week after the FBI determined that there was no hoax.

But let's turn to the other aspect of Trump's attack - why do you think Trump is incapable of taking a position on the Confederate flag?

Bubba played it up and I have no issue with that, name recognition is king here for his pocketbook. I didn't say it should be an issue for Trump but he obviously feels this over the top media pushing every f'ing thing is some how racist and political correctness, is going to far. You and I both know that "asking a question" is not a defense, nor is it always a question.

If someone comes up to you and asks, "Are you stupid or something?" You and I both know that your immediate interpretation is not to think, "Oh, he just wants to know if I am intelligent."

 

Well...NASCAR banned it from their events and Mississippi voted to remove it from their State Flag. So that's a couple of positions (i.e. no longer permitting its use at your events) that one could take. On the other hand, you have folks on this forum who try to fly the confederate flag right beside the American flag which, if you think about it, is akin to denouncing gay marriage while engaging in a gay sex act.

Meanwhile, Trump, who went out of his way to criticize NASCAR for that decision and blamed it for their lower TV ratings went on to claime that he has no position, one way or the other, regarding the confederate flag. For a guy who has an opinion on everything, isn't that the most cowardly position?

Also, you know the likelihood of someone who is actually aligned with Black Lives Matter deciding to knowingly tear down a statute of Frederick Douglas is extremely low.
