It's heart-wrenching. But you would actually need to have a heart for it to be "wrenched". Floyd never resisted arrest. He didn't want to get in the car out of complete fear. The bodycam transcripts don't hint that he even did anything wrong to be murdered by this cop.

This is not an "accident". It's not a guy who was out of control. This is a guy who feared for his life. And his fear was absolutely justified.

So let's just sit back and accept that, no matter what political party you favor, this was a murder. The cops involved need to be in prison. And that many police precincts most definitely need to be rebuilt (defunded) from the ground up. The whole concept of what the police does need to be re-thought. This should not be happening.

Not getting in the car when ordered was resisting. His death was not justified, but like the vast majority of the other cases where a black was killed by the police, it was preceded by resisting or refusing to follow the police's orders. He would most likely be alive today, had he not resisted.

"He was cooperating but didn't want to get in the car".....wow, what a conflicting statement.

People that don't want to talk about the dirty little secrets of discrimination are not going to care about this. Thanks for posting it anyway.

As usual utter total self serving horse crap. Mr. Lloyd knew the drill he had been there before and we'll knew that he would not be garmed if he got in the car as instructed. Mr. Floyd was not strangled he was not murdered he died if a heart attack likely brought on from taking a very dangerous combination of meth and fentanyl, giving him credit he might not be due, to treat the symptoms of a mild case of Covid 19. Officer Chauvin was at most responsible for failing to recognize that his charge was having a heart attack.

“I think you’re going to kill me”. Says the potential victim.
“I don’t care, do what I say!” Says the would
    Be killer.
The victim resists because fight or flight, ends up dead.

Was this situation George Floyd or a home invasion where the victim had a gun and the killer had one too?

Doesn't really matter. The officer was wrong and should be reprimanded. The shitshow that followed didn't need to happen.

I only hope all races of people watch the video and learn a lesson from it. Law and order is important in any civilized society. When you go against the law bad things can happen to you. If you disagree with an arresting officer we also have laws that allow you to file charges against them and be judged. But if you resist an officer it will not end well, guaranteed. Pay attention and be a good citizen.

That's the basis for "defund the police". There was absolutely no reason to force him in the car. The guy was obviously in a panic but fully cooperating.

Very often those orders are unreasonable, as was shown by this and the Wendy's parking lot shooting.

He was under arrest. Do you expect them to walk to jail?
Floyd was under arrest. In the Wendy's parking lot, they worked with him for forty five minutes. He was tested and the results show he are driving while intoxicated. They do not just let you go. You go to jail. Or would you prefer they just let him go to do it again? Maybe you should talk to MADD.

Yes, authority is subjective at times(there's much in civic discourse we could learn or re-learn). If an authority reaches for a power that doesn't serve a common good, it's not a just authority and should thus be refused(the infamous example, the Auschwitz concentration camps.)

All your poster shows, is that nuance. The masks, we don't know completely.(the new consensus seems to be acknowledging that fact, but that it's the only thing we have.) I think it should be an understanding to only wear it in public settings with groups of 5 or more, but if you're indoors or alone then there shouldn't be a need.

As it regards this episode, Floyd clearly wasn't cooperative and IMO he was lying about being claustrophobic. He shouldn't have died, but a murder charge is ridiculous and aiding and abetting is ridiculous in this case as well, as the transcript shows.

But hey, we gotta woke and do stupid things while being woke. Such as overcharging, again lol.

We'll see how long a city goes without the police. Even a blind man can see that won't work. Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread.

You have no idea what your talking about. Floyd was murdered by that cop in Minneapolis. Brooks was shot in a Wendy's parking lot in Atlanta.

Floyd's murder was not justified and those Cops should be in prison. Brooks death was justified in the Wendy's parking lot because he assaulted the police officers.

Do yourself a favor and at least know what your are discussing before you post.

That doesn't answer my question. Are you being a good citizen and gladly wearing a mask when you go out.

After your claim that I did not know what I was talking about, you failed to say one thing that was contrary to what I said.

I stand corrected. You were posting about 2 separate incidents.

I still believe Floyd's death was unnecessary and the Cops should be held responsible.

Brooks death at Wendy's was justified IMO.

Which I have said several times. However, he did resist arrest prior to them killing him.
