You mean we can't just rely on Friedman's vertical Phillips Curve and just sit on our hands? Gosh, those right wingers must have been fibbing to us since 1979...

Maybe this is congressional Repubs way of getting rid of the Orange Menace. Cuz their refusal to put an aid package together that is big enough to sustain the economy, now that Trump has orchestrated a resurgence of COVID, will snuff out the very slim chance he has of re-election.

I prefer no more stimulus, but if they insist, at least just do the dam direct check as a separate bill, who would vote against that?

I do not like the +$600 UE extension.

    I was contemplating that myself.

The least they could do is get that money out to us and then continue fighting over the rest of it. I may have to write my reps when I get home...

Giving out "free" money leads to dependence and entitlements It's not good and that type of concept had led to generations expecting welfare. FDR at least had the sense to make people work for wages.

Bullshit. We are in the middle of an extraordinary set of circumstances. Claims like those are dubious in normal times... now they’re worse than rediculous

Asking people to work for earnings is ridiculous? We are in sad shape if working for pay is old fashioned thinking.

Lots of graffiti to scrub off buildings, Streets and statues. That's very time consuming.

    Sponge ready jobs.
