Tucker Carlson calls Obama 'one of the sleaziest and most dishonest figures' in US political history

    Tucker Carlson described former President Obama as "one of the sleaziest and most dishonest figures in the history of American politics" after his eulogy at the funeral of civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) on Thursday.

    "Barack Obama, one of the sleaziest and most dishonest figures in the history of American politics, used George Floyd's death at a funeral to attack the police," Carlson said before showing a segment of Obama's remarks.

    Obama gave lengthy remarks about Lewis at Thursday's funeral, but the part that got the most attention was his vehement push for Congress to pass a new Voting Rights Act, which was an issue that Lewis had pursued. The Supreme Court in 2013 struck down the heart of the 1965 law, allowing nine states, mostly in the South, to change their voting laws without federal approval.

    "Bull Connor may be gone. But today we witness with our own eyes police officers kneeling on the necks of Black Americans. George Wallace may be gone. But we can witness our federal government sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators," Obama said.

    I hate it when sleazy politicians turn funerals into political rallies. I was watching it live and was disgusted by the things he was saying. I never disliked Obama. But that political speech was terrible and dishonest and to do it at a funeral. He was getting standing ovations when he attacked our police and smeared our country as a racist cesspool. I lost all respect for Obama. Too many years in that racist Rev Wright church.

    And yet I believe in the same episode he gave glowing glowing praise to Cain. Perhaps it isn't all about the color of a person's skin like those on the left always assume as they beat their racist drums.

    Yeah, and then he turns around and applauds Trump every time he turns a coronavirus news conference into a campaign rally.

    I don't watch the show, but Tucker would be much better off letting the other side be known for cheap insults and name calling.

    I saw one right after he attacked our police. I just hate seeing that kind of crap at a funeral. Demonizing the whole for the actions of a few. Seems like the kind of thing those who actually oppose racism would stand against.

    It was the the dishonest way he did it suggesting that black men having their necks kneeled on and killed, as if this is a common problem among police and also suggesting he was singled out because of the color of skin and not because he had committed a crime and resisted arrest (not excusing the deplorable behavior of that specific policemen). Also talking about those who peacefully protest the treatment of blacks are still being tear-gassed and beaten by the police, as if those who had this has happened to are not engaged in a riot whenever this has occurred. Dishonest and at a funeral sleazy. Yes he was mischaracterizing our police, or as Biden put it - the police have become the enemy. Marxist philosophy needs an us versus them mentality and for the present they have chosen our police to demonize.
