No, the Feds exacerbated an existing problem.

I'm just serving up the current polling numbers.

How you choose to interpret them is up to you.

    So you have nothing.....got it.

But yea, it's the feds fault. I'm assuming the other poster I asked will have an equal amount of nothing.

You're missing the point. I don't need to "have anything" because I'm hoping Joe Biden wins.

You need to "have something" better than Federal troops unwelcomely "assisting" local law enforcement because 64% of the electorate don't see that as a good idea.

If those polls were inverted and 64% were pro-fed troops and 36% were anti, you can bet your arse the troops would still be there teargassing but even Trump's campaign handlers could see the two-storey writing on that wall.

That's why they're leaving. It's hardly "mission accomplished".

So just to be clear. You are suggesting that 64% of people support rioting?

Yeah, the sources don't say what your trying to make them say.

No, the polls (not me) are saying that 64% of the American people (or a number equivalent to not Trump's base) do not approve of the way Trump handled the Portland protests. You know with the troops and tear-gas and stuff?

They are saying that the presence of Federal troops made the situation worse not better.

I don't know how to translate that into Fox-speak but that was the question they were responding to.

Pull all Federal agents out of Oregon.
Stop all Federal funds to Oregon. ($10 billion in 2016)
See how long the Democratic politicians last when they have to raise taxes to make up the shortfall.

And what percentage are opposed to the rioters?

I wouldn't be surprised if that was in the 90 percentile but that wasn't the question polled so I can't say for sure.

The rioting seems to have quelled two nights in a row since the Feds left.

The left likes to point to this while ignore the violence for 45 days before the feds showed up.

It would appear the federal show of force worked.

Not sure how you're getting there since those that were rioting carried on doing so until the Feds left and people seem quite chummy with the State Troopers who've taken over since.

Also the Governor (or was it the Mayor?) did say that things were quieting before the Feds got there.

You've asked me several times to speculate on unknown statistics. I can't do that.

I can speculate on known statistics however and on Trump's motive for these actions.

I think he was trying a "law and order" (Oh! The irony) gambit to try and bring some voters from that 64% column into his reliable 36% column.

That doesn't appear to have worked. It may have entrenched support in his own column but that's not enough to win the election. It may also have had an opposite effect on those that aren't already in his pocket. That should be a concern for his campaign managers and, judging by the fact Brian Murphy, a senior DHS official, has just been removed from his role over this, maybe it is.

If I was reading the political tea leaves, I'd walk away from this one PDQ!

We heard all the same **** about the polls and statistics up to the last election. Then it was unicorn tears from the liberal left whom are still throwing temper tantrums 3.5 years later.

Sorry I dont believe your referenced polls.

so, just let the rioters burn the place down. Brilliant. I’d rather the feds come exacerbate the problem and then crush it.

Apparently, Donald Trump has no understanding of how Polls work.

Since 2016's Fiasco, the Polling Models have been updated substantially and the accuracy has increased exponentially.

Of course, Trump won't accept any result until Biden is sworn in and Trump is being dragged kicking and screaming from the White House.

What is it with the left and cartoons?

Some sort of stunted intellectual growth thing?

The riots seem to have quelled since the feds left.

You seem to be answering your own speculative projection there?

Yes but thankfully it seems that at least 64% of Americans don't want to live in such a fascist utopia.

    At least for now!

I don’t understand why the left tolerates such destruction at the hands of rioters.

Looks like the fed deployment worked.

Imagine that. When people have repercussions for the actions, their behavior changes.

I'm betting, if the feds we're still there, there would still be rioting but, if you want to believe otherwise, that's up to you.

How sick the LW puts partisan politics ahead of their citizen's safety, and smearing the very law enforcement that protect them. Truly liberalism is a mental disorder. They are basically trying to nullify Federal law, not the first time Democrats have done that. The federal government has every right to protect federal property, as they did at Ft. Sumter.

So after the Feds left, has the violence subsided?
