There's been more and more hints that she will be Biden's pick for veep.

Some people in the very Biden campaign deem her "disloyal, ruthlessly ambitious, opportunistic, untrustworthy and intent on becoming president herself" according to this source:

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/joe-biden-buries-hatchet-looks-194150180.html

Others say she is competent, intelligent, experienced, well-prepared to step in as POTUS if necessary, and maybe the one the Republicans don't want, because she doesn't have a history of scandals that could be used in attack ads.

Not sure about that; wasn't she involved in a controversy about being in a relationship with Willie Brown in order to be nominated for a couple of important positions?

I was also told that blacks don't like her that much due to tough stances while a prosecutor, but when I was exploring her political endorsements right before posting this thread, I was surprised to see that she is endorsed by the NAACP with a rating of 100% so maybe this is not true.

She is described as politically moderate/centrist; again I'm not so sure when I see for example her advocacy for sanctuary cities and for a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, both positions that me, a centrist, consider to be too far left.

Anyway, I don't have a good grasp on who Kamala Harris is, politically. I find it a little weird that Biden might pick someone who attacked him so much in the primaries, and someone who was soundly rejected by the Democratic electorate, in the primaries, so I'm a bit puzzled with this choice if it is confirmed.

I was more in favor of Susan Rice or Tammy Duckworth. But I'm willing to learn more about Kamala Harris, pros and cons.

    Opinions?

There's a typo on the title; obviously I meant what "do" people think, not "to" but I don't know how to edit titles; could a moderator help, please? @Adfundum

The MOST IMPORTANT V.P. selection of my 79 year lifetime, as whomever is picked has a high chance of winding up as president. My choice would be a white woman Warren, but it looks like he may have locked himself into a black woman.

I’m an independent. Except for my views on voluntary socialism and being a classical liberal I lean right. So Kamala is a little too authoritarian for me. Ok, a lot too authoritarian. :)

Really the sex for favors thing is irrelevant to me. That ship in politic sailed decades ago.

Biden will choose a far left running mate. This whole election is a gamble with a possible huge payoff for the DNC. It’s an opportunity to get a president in the Oval Office that’s too far left to be electable. It’s why they don’t care Joe is senile. That’s the angle.

    Just my opinion.

She was one of my top favorites for President. Remains one of my top favorites for VP. But my number one preference is Val Demings.

    She's a Democrat, i.e. anti-freedom, anti- rule of law, anti-America.

Corrupt, dishonest, will continue the Democratic Party's sellout to China.

Regardless of who wins, America is done. This will likely be our last election under our present Constitution.

If Trump wins the left will continue to burn the country down, and China will launch more biological attacks at us.

If Biden wins, the Dems will move swiftly to gut the Constitution of any meaning, racial agitation will drive a lot of the agenda, and China will launch another virus.

Economically, I think Trump would fight to keep us afloat, while the Dems will try to sink us as quickly as possible and blame it on Trump.

2020-2024 is our endgame. Which endgame we get depends on who wins.

Not disturbed by her early attack on Biden on busing. That is what the primary season is about, testing, vetting etc. I am a little concerned that the same flaws that made her campaign implode, might do the same running as VP. She had the big momentum, and the next thing you know, nothing was happening at all and she wasn't even shining in the later debates.. Lots of dissension in her campaign, and accusations she simply was not on top of things or taking care of business. She has to be able to pick her staff well, manage them, make the tough calls and spend the time to direct her own campaign.

My biggest concern about Harris is that she has unlikable personality traits that remind me of Hillary Clinton, right down to having an insidious laugh. Playing the race and gender card is not cool. If she can keep those in check, I can tolerate her.

I'm still learning more about her, but I like what I've seen so far.

Just another elitist sociopath entrenched establishment parasite control freak. Not remarkable from her peers in any way.

She's such a joke but apparently that's the best the Dems have to offer. She literally sucked her way up the ladder.

Biden was never a smart man....even before the onset of dementia. A VP pick should be merit based, not appeasement to SJW's.

If appeasement to SJWs is a criterium, then it is merit based.

"Merit based" is an ambiguous term, which simply means you earned something. It says nothing about what it is you earned nor how you earned it. Since it is the nominee's choice, it is up to him what and who merit the nomination for VP.

And Biden is so stupid he got himself elected to the Senate 6 times and Vice-president twice. I hear he's made millions, as well.

It is the media that has locked him into a black woman. He has never said beyond choosing a woman. Indentity politics makes no sense to me at all.

I cannot forgive Kamala Harris for attacking Joe Biden for opposing forced school busing in 1973. Black majority schools are dangerous places where little learning occurs. That is why white liberals avoid sending their children to those schools.

It's the ONLY opportunity, with Biden and Madame X testing the waters and AOC barely eligible to run in 2024 as Madame X's VP/putative successor. But yeah, you nailed it. Backdoor buggery.

I see Harris as a politician that will say anything and do anything to keep power. But so will most politicians. She will definitely use race to get what she wants. I could never vote for her.

The notion that gender and race should be a prerequisite for the choice of Vice President should give you pause.

Newly registered account data mining? Kudos.

And Yes. She’s a 2 faced typical corrupt politician with an unlikeable personality.

And remove that unwanted screen shot I somehow bungled onto my post up above.

I hate your software. I mean, we are talking dark moldering dislike for software which refuses to allow removal of text but puts it unwanted into another post.
